SENIOR HIGH PLAY CAST JUNIOR HIGH NEWS LINCOLN SENIOR HOP IS FINALLY CHOSEN Student PROVES GREAT SUCCESS Body Officers Make Debut The Senior Class of Lincoln High School carried to a successful conclusion their annual senior hop, held in the High School Gymnasium on the evening of Friday, Nov. 20. Show Boat Comes to Lincoln High After several weeks spent in preparation and anticipation of the hop, the committee, under the leadership of Ruth Hansen, should be complimented on their splendid efforts. Those students assisting Miss Lowell Hansen are as follows: Bigelow, Grant Elliot, Donfta Davis, and Herbert Johnson, Mr. Raymond Partridge and Miss Fern Jude deserve thanks of the seniors and of the school for their splendid cooperation in the capacity of advisors. Friday, Nov. If, can well be called the Seniors' Day. During the regular assembly period, the senior class entertained the student body with the presentation of an excellent program, entirely in keeping wit(i the theme of the Hop which was an Old Southern Custom." The assembly program was a reproduction of Captain Henrys show boat with Lowell Bigelow as Captain Henry. Roscoe, the snake charmer was there in the form of Herbert Johnson. Sue Lane, impersonated by Glenda Taylor; Nip and Tuck in the persons of Ruth Ekins and Bette Sumner, Aunt Chloe in the person of Annie Shepherd, were all there to help entertain. Perhaps the cleverest act of the performance was the dancing girls who turned out to be modern in shorts. The entire program was very well prepared and the seniors are to be congratulated on it. Following are the names of the remainder of the cast of Lincoln Highs Show-BoaHelen Miriam Kleva Fountin, Fronk, Cutler, Ruby McCarthy, Dorothy Bone,. When the glamor of football dies away the students begin talking about the great uinter sport, basket ball. Regular practice for basket ball d began Nov. 17 when Jack Conder was seen out running around in an attempt to catch his breath. The prospects for this year's team are good and Lincoln should have a successful season. On Nov. 17, about twenty-thre- e men reported for practice. This is a good showing and should give the coach something to work with. The first encounter of the season will be with Payson at Payson, Nov. 25. Front here, the team goes into rigid training in preparation for their encounters with Murray High at Murray, Dec. 4, and with Tooele at Tooele, Dec. 5. These games should provide much excitement for the players and fans. Students and fans from the community expect a great year for the Lincoln High Tigers.
