AARONIC 123rd Quorum Of Seventies JAMES A. IVIE, Sr. President There will be an opportunity for the members of the 123 quorum of Seventy to prove their value as missionaries this coming year in Sharon Stake. Many of us will be called by the Bishops of the various wards to act as ward teachers. The duty of the Seventy is to proclaim the gospel at home and abroad; to assist in perfecting the lives of those who have accepted the truth. Many people allow little things to stay their progress spiritually and much valuable time is lost through indifference. On January 6, 1836. the Prophet Joseph Smith spent half a day in settling the unpleasant feelings that existed in the breast of Elder Orson Pratt, concerning so small a matter as the sound of a Hebrew letter. A man who used to live in our stake, told me this story: I was just sitting down to the t t table for a cup of coffee before going to work when I saw someone pass the window, and said to my wife, there comes the Relief Society teachers, let us remain quiet till they go. So they rapped and rapped on the door without success. When they were leaving I looked through the window and found it wasn't Relief Society teachers, but and her daughter. my sister-in-laWe went to the door and called them to come back. But they had seen us when they came and were offended and would not come back." caused This misunderstanding these people to refrain front speaking to each other for S years. .Brethren of the Seventies, let us be earnest in this work. A great opportunity has come to us. Let us make the most of it, and be grateful thSt it has come. Let no difficulties hold us back. But rather let us say, as Napoleon, when he was confronted with the difficulty, it not the impossibility, of crossing that great barrier with his army, There Shall Be No Alps. il HENRY D. M. I. TAYLOR, Chairman Aaronic Priesthood Committee. Three fundamental points will be emphasized in the Aaronic Priesthood during the yea; 1936. These three features are: The Aaronic Priesthood Quorum supervision, the Aaronic Priesthood Quorum supervision, the Aaaronic Priesthood correlation plan, and the adult Priesthood plan. Special emphasis is to be placed upon the orderly, systematic and effective conduct of the quorums by the officers of that quorum, rather than by the supervisor assuming too much of the direction. A Yiew series of Aaronic Priesthood Quorum lesson outlines for Priests, Teachers and Deacons, to harmonize with the 'plan adopted for the Sunday Schools, will be ready for distribution by December 15, according to word received from the Presiding Bishops office. It is urged that the Bishopric and supervisors see luat . qorui.is arc fully organized, and officers appointed; that the bos be given asregularly, especially signments stressing the activity of ward teaching for the Teachers and Priests. ic Special activity wards Tuesday, Already evening in all December 17th. we are looking forward to meeting you at our New Years Eve dance in the Lincoln High School .Gym. A. workers are reminded that now is the time to start work on the achievement plan so that there will be no mistakes on achievement this year. All Ward activity people and class leaders are requested to study the manual and activity guides. Make an effort for larger enrollment in all classes. FOR DECEMBER GRAFF. Supt. With colder weather approaching, we again wish to make our plea for used clothing or shoes that members in your families may have outgrown, that are still good enough for someone to get some good service from. Your visiting teachers or presidency will be glad to call for them. Many fine little garments can be made from some of these things, so please look jour wardrobes over thoroughly. You may also have articles lying around in your homes that would help in making up Christmas boxes.
