Blood. In it the chief executive lists some of the things for which the people of Utah have to be thankful and ask all citizens to assemble in their homes and in their places of worship that they may give thank' for divine blessings. The proclamation, in part, says. "Ts Frank!, n D. Roosevelt, in a proclamation November 12, has set aside Thursday, November 28, as a day of national thanksgiving. That document names several reasons why the peop.e of this nation should be grateful as the year 1935 draws toward its close. We in Utah join with the people of the nation in such expressions of gratitude. Utah citizens, too, may give thanks ti.at the harvests .of 1935 have been more bounteous than in recent years; that the period of ravaging drouth was changed by a season of more nearly normal precipitation; that the people of this state have been spared from anv serious outbreak of pestilence or from any major disaster by fire, flood or earthquake, and that substantial progress is being made toward a return of improved indus t G-I-V- trial, economic and business conditions. Each community, each family and each individual may well recall their own blessings and thereby add to the list of reasons for joining wholeheartedly in the suggestion of the president: " Let us, then, on the day appointed offer our devotions and our humble thanks to Almighty God and pray that the people of Ameii-c- a will he guided by Him in helping their fellow men. ' Governor Blood also urges that the national colors be displayed from homes and public buildings on that holiday. Eig.i one students at the U versify of Utah, eligible for work provided by national youth administration funds, failed to report for work during October, Fred Lund-befassistant superintendent of buildings and grounds at the university, announced.
