Show paea Two Friday, August THE VOICE OF SIIARQ. mite Uutrr of harmt 'pTsbllsked weekly at ProvoUtuh, by tbe Sharon Cooperative Educational Recreational Association of Orem. Printed by Utah Valley PwfcliiMng Co., 67 North First West1 Street, Provo, Utah. Eutered a Meoad class matter at the Post Office in Provo, Utah, under the act of March 3, 1870 Our Sixth Anniversary Five years ago today No. 1 Volume 1 of the Voice of Sharon was issued as the first newspaper in this community. At that time it was sponsored by the Sharon "Stake Presidency. Dee Brown wa? chosen as the first editor and Henry Taylor as business manager, When Sharon's Cooperative Educational Recreational Association was organized in September, 1933, the Stake Presidency felt that the paper could serve the community better if the publication was sponsored by this organization. Since this time, the Voice of Sharon has been published as a community paper sponsored by Scera. Until June of last year, the paper was distributed as a monthly' paper, free to all families. This free distribution was possible only through the liberal support given by the advertisers and the unselfish service of the many people who have contributed their time and talents. The Voice of Sharon now' enters upon its sixth year on a sounder basis than ever before. The management hopes that the paper will be able toaerve all the people better than ever before. It is the hope of the Board of Directors that all the families of this community will help In this realization by renewing their subscription. Our slogan for this year is Every family in the eight wards comprising this community a subscriber to their Home Town Paper, the Voice of Sharon. Commissioner Brown of the NAE said at a recent visit to Utah, .There is no paper with a more unique background than the Voice of Sharon published at Orem, Utah." If the ward solicitor has failed to contact you, will you please send your subscript ioTT in. As a birthday treat, we are sending this edition of the paper to every family. Sman Jameson. When large numbers of couples are to he sealed, the sealing of these couples should be performed ten days to two weeks before the sealing of the children to their parents, then patrons will have time to receive the finished sealing sheets of couples from the temple and be able to furnish information on the children to parents blank, and will not be obliged to guess at the date of the sealing to the parents. When endowment excursions come to the temple and bring with them large numbers of sealings, they would like to be notified long enough in advance, so as to prepare for them. If they bring both couples and children they suggest that a man and his wife do the sealings of couples, while the others go through for endowments. Then at the proper time all can participate, in the sealing of children.
