Washingtons ment, Lincoln Memorial, the grave of the Unknown Soldier, Arlington Cemetery, and many interesting monuments. One of the highlights of our stay in Washington was attending church in the lovely L.D.S. Chapel. We were interested to learn that of the 12000 members of the are under 30 years branch, 85 of age, and four fifths of the memof bership are active, and 51 are full the gross membership tithepayers. From Washington, we went to Palmyra, N. Y. and spent a night at the Joseph Smith Farm, visiting the Sacred Grove, and the Hill Cumorah. Niagara Falla From there we went to Niagara Falls, which is all that it has been described to be. Then we went to Detroit, Mich, and in Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit we spent a day at the River Rouge plant of the Ford Motor Co. and saw a Ford in the making. Across the state of Michigan, our trip took us to Chicago again, where we visited Field's Museum of Natural History, the Acquarium, the Plana-tariuin which can be seen the of the Universe workings by night, and the position of the various planets and stars as compared to our earth. At Racine, Wisconsin we purchased a car, by which we traveled 2100 miles, via Rock Island, Illinois, where we spent some time with saints and friends whom I had known in the mission field. Two elders of the Iowa District accompanied us on our tour of and Carthage, 111. where we saw the scenes of early church history. We traveled West across part of the state of Iowa, and Missouri, into Independence, Mo. We visited the church printing office there, and spent part of a day at Kansas City, just a, short distance from Independence. Across Kansas, we came into Colorado, and made a tour of the scenic wonders of the state. After a trip of approximately miles, across 16 states, Washington, D, C. and into Canada, I found Utah to be still one of the most attractive place to live. ie, OF B.
