When this employee had pci formed an exceptional job, a Corvette door was found at an auto yard, and the woiker found the new "prie in his otllce. The door aw aid soon became the symbol for the entire company of having done a good job. Emily Wilkins and Kevin Bowler are two Vernal youth who recognized a need and developed creative ways to better the situation. When the Uintah Care Center opened with it's new addition and remodel of the existing facility, guests remarked at the beauty of the two well landscaped courtyards. There were many young trees among the walkways, benches and planting beds. But the residents of the Center would probably never be able to enjoy the courtyard shaded by the slow growing trees. Emily and Kevin independently decided to help make the courtyards interesting immediately. Emily, daughter of Mike and Brenda Wilkins, purchased four hummingbird feeders which she fills once a week. With two hummingbird feeders in each courtyard, the delicate little birds may be observed and enjoyed by everyone in the Center. Her work is part of a community service project which she designed for herself. Kevin, son of Nila Bowler, chose building 15 birdhouse feeders as his Eagle Scout project. A crew of lour assisted him in cutting and assembling the different birdhouses wliii h either hang under the eves of the Center, or placed on stands outside of windows.
