There were 137 total entries and projects were required by some teachers but not all. Projects ranged from the tiveness of toothpaste on effec- tooth enamel, to the advantage of using yeast in bread, to the classic model of a volcano. Judges for the fair were Joe Paul Dean Sheffer, Johnson, Buchler and Val Mortenson. Uintah County Health Department donated three helmets to give away as prizes to the winners. The 10 overall winners are: Madisen Robb, Lauren Murray, Tyra Anderson, Brinli Buckalew, Kelsey Hughes, Christine Hughes, TJ Pederson, Elisabeth Jones, Kristin Gagon and Caitlin Calder. Egg Yolk Yellow 3 Door Hatchback Ute tennis goes on the road After the cold and soggy practice sessions in stormy weather earlier this week, the Utcs arc looking forward to playing in warmer climes. They open preseason tennis play in Price Thursday then travel on to a tournament in St. George on Friday and Saturday. Coach Mindy Merrill expects stiff competition and seasoning experience. The Dinos are an unknown for Coach Merrill but the St. George Invitational Tennis Boys Tournament will likely be tough. Well play a lot of tennis over those 2 days, Merrill said. The event is sponsored by Bloomington Country Club and will include eight to twelve schools. A goal of the tournament is to provide good tennis experience in a preseason format. Beginning with Carbon, the week will be the first competitive play for Uintah this year. The Utes have eight returning players from last year. Five are seniors and three are juniors. Unfortunately, not all will be able the trip to St. George. Returning in the group playing sinMarc Mike are Muir, gles Mansfield and Brett Christensen who are all seniors. Muir is playing in the first slot, Mansfield in second position. Christensen is recently back from living in Hawaii, a fact that is exciting Merrill. Brett is such a good player it will be great having him back, Merrill said. Wills Jolley, Grant Young, Josh Reynolds, Ollie Wallis and Mitch McClellan are all returning to compete in the doubles competition. Jolley and Reynolds are both seniors while the others are lower classmen. Merrill said the actual doubles team pairings are still new players that of the to talent their adding returning group from last season. March 3. There are being worked. Unfortunately, Wallis is suffering from an injury and will be sidelined indefinitely and some of the other players will not be available for the St. George tournament. Even so, Coach Merrill expects good things. Were pretty strong. Ive got the best team, Merrill said. They will be at home hosting Wasatch. Game time is slated for 3 p.m. at the Uintah High School courts. Dues for the year can be paid at this time. They are $25. If not attending , mail to Linctte Rollins, secretary-treasure- r, P.O. Box 13443 no later than May 1. Dinner and a short program will follow. The Association will kick off the season with an ice breaker on April 26.
