The Safe Kids Coalition plans events, demonstrations, and tion for the Safe Kids Fair to be held May 3. informa- Safe Kids fair coming By Virginia Harrington Express Feature Writer Health The TriCounty Kids Safe the and Department Coalition are in the process of planning the Safe Kids Fair to be held May 3. Exact times and the location are yet to be decided. Toni Fcnn of TriCounty Health is heading the coalition made up of volunteers from all areas of the community. More volunteers are needed and anyone with an interest poster helps parents determine if their children are tall enough to move from a safety seat to a seat belt. A in child safety is invited to partici- pate. Ideas for demonstrations, infonmation packets, entertainment, parent education and anything related to children and childhood are actively sought. The fair will include a child safety seat check, something needed by every child. The height and weight of children are the important factors in determining the type and style of safety seat needed by any child and TriCounty Health professionals will be on hand to advise parents on the right seat for their children. The coalition is currently looking in to having information on fire safety, first aid, the proper way to be visible to school buses and mail trucks, saying no to drugs plus many other areas of vital information. The Uintah County Literacy Commission will be on hand with reading information and VTV 6 is planning a presentation on its popular new program, Reading Elementary. Refreshments will be provided by the Masonic Lodge. The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. in the conference room of the TriCounty Health area of the County Building on March 12. Bring your ideas, suggestions and energy to help make this the best Safe Kids Fair ever.
