She was bom March 10, 1921 in Anetta, Ky. to William Stanley and Iva Mae Decker McGrew. She married her Doc sweetheart Manfred Rasmussen June 5, 1944 in Louisville, Ky. Thelma was a devoted homemaker, she loved cooking and was known for making her homemade rolls, as well as her gardening. Her grandchildren were her whole life. Thelma was a member of the LDS and Baptist faith. She is survived by her children, Terry (JoAnne) Rasmussen; Delbert Rasmussen; (LeAnn) Stanley (Terri) Rasmussen; Charleen (Jack) Brown; Alton (Dawn) Rasmussen; Ronnie (Sheryl) Rasmussen; 21 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 She was preceded in death by her husband; 4 children. Dimple May, Larry, Susie and Michael; parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services were held March 8 at the Rangley LDS Ward Chapel. Bishop Dickie R. White conducted the service, with Jean Murray performing the prelude and postlude music. Mark Wilson gave the family prayer, followed by Blaine with the fnvocation. Murray Delbert Rasmussen read the obituary, after which the musical number, Peace in the Valley, was performed by Stormy Tomlinson. Raymond Dick Robertson Velma Lou Ferguson Lou Ferguson, Robertson Dick Raymond beloved husband, father, grandfather and passed away peacefully, Monday March 10, 2003 at age 91, in his home in Mapleton, Utah surrounded by loving family members. He was bom May 2nd, 1911 in Fountain Green, Utah to James Franklin and Lillie May Livingston Robertson. He married Rosezella Bigelow on July 24th, 1948. She was bom May 30, 1929 in Sharon Springs, Kan. to Lewis and Lucy Velma Beeler Mather. Velma married Walter Vernon Ferguson in Hills City, Kan. Velma was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Ashley Valley Medical Center for 6 years, she loved her hospital work. She enjoyed good meals and loved reading. She is survived by her daughter, sons, John Jody DeHerrerra; and Fred Lambroff; LambrofT, grandchildren, Leah Davis, Holly Linden, Jennifer Lambroff, Angela Roberts, Christopher LambrofT, Nicolas Lambroff; great grandchilEzra Emma Martinez, dren, Martinez, Naomi Davis, Courtney Lambroff, Sarah and AJ Roberts. After a long hard battle with being ill for so long. Dick Pollard Richard Ray Pollard, age 70, passed away March 9, 2003 in Price. He was bom May 13, 1932 in Carmi, Illinois to Charles and Bonnie Newbe Pollard. Married Lois Wallace, June 14, 1953 in Price, she died March 29, ter. He was bom July 13, 1923 in Vemal. He was bom to Fredrick 1982. Member of the Price United Methodist Church and longtime resident of Carbon County. Served in the U.S. Army with the 6th Armored Division. Dick was a well known and highly respected driller of the discovery well that was brought into the Uintah Basin. He was very proud of his work and he loved serving the oil fields of the Uintah Basin with 42 years of dedicated service. Dick enjoyed going camping with his family and he especially loved his fishing. He will be dearly missed by his family and many longtime friends. Martha L. Jonos Martha L. Jones, age 93, was bom Nov. 15, 1909 in Hayden, Colo, to William L. and Leona Neal Schaefermeyer. She passed away March 7, 2003 at her daughters home in her sleep. She attended School in Jensen, Vernal and Salt Lake City. Her mother wanted all her children to be educated. She married Stanley Naylon Jones July 22, 1930 in Vernal. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints and enjoyed working in the Relief Society. Martha and Stan lived their lives on the Jones Ranch in Maeser until both of their deaths. Martha was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing and gardening. She also liked the farm animals and going fishing, hunting, camping and rides on the mountain with her children and grandchildren. Sterling was bom on July 27, State University in Logan for three years. He married Mary Wursten on June 7, 1939 in Vernal. They lived in Vernal, Rangely and for the past nineteen years at their ranch south east of MaybelL Colo. Sterling enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and riding horses. He was bom April 11, 1925 in Vemal to Thomas and Violet Peters Caldwell. He served in the Army in World War II and in the Korean Conflict. Wes loved animals, especially Matilda, his gerd man dog. He took care of his ailing father for 6 years and his mother for 4 years. He is survived by his sisters, Lois D. (R.C.) Noel of St. George; Delores (Joe A.) Lopez of Vemal; several nieces and nephews; Blain (Laurie) Noel, Dan Lopez, Chad David (Michelle), Nancy (John) Jacobsen, Deon (Eddy) Aldredge. Joseph was bom Feb. 13, 1922 in Roosevelt to Joseph Adolphus and Maude Eva Redden LeBeau. Joseph graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1940, attended Young Brigham and then University, 1940-194entered the U.S. Naval Service on August 22, 1942. Upon discharge on Feb. 18, 1945, he opened a gun shop in Vemal, where he made and repaired guns. Some of those guns are now selling for $10,000 each. He then created a partnership with his brother-in-laestablishing the A & L Furniture Store. He married Lorraine Dorothy McCraw, on May 26, 1960, in Vemal. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Dec. 8, 1964. Six children were added to this union: Eva Lorraine Lori, Tammie Marie, Heidi Dawn, Joseph Bruce, Jonathan William and Jeremey Adolphus. Joseph contracted with Uintah County, Duchesne County, Moffat County, Colorado, B.Y.U., University of Utah, and Utah State University, to install and maintain an aerial television system, radio transmission, and educational facilities which he lovingly created, maintained, and endured many life threatening experiences, for 42 yean. Josephs happiest times were spent on the mountains, fishing, hanging out with his family, teaching his sons the business, snowmo-bilinfarming, wood working and m Mortuary. Joseph m Wes Caldwell Sterling Cook 1918, in Vernal to Joseph I. and Nora A. (Watkins) Cook. He was raised and attended school in Vernal. Following graduation from High School Sterling attended Uth Slaugh and Martha Greenhow Slaugh. He married his sweetheart Gladys Fisher on July 20, 1942 in Vemal. LaDell was a veteran of World War II. He served in the Army for 2 years, 18 months of that was in the Pacific. His unit was the first unit to land in Japan after the bomb went off. After he returned from the war he worked with his brother-in-lain the timber business. Then he worked at the refinery in Jensen, and then they moved it to Rangely, Colo, where he continued to work. He then worked for Dalbo & A-- l Tank until he retired. LaDell enjoyed going to the mountain, whether it was to get wood or go camping, or fishing. He just loved being in the mountains. He loved doing all of this with his family. His family meant everything to him. He loved it when his children and grandchildren came to visit him. He was very proud of his family. LaDell loved working in their garden. LaDell and Gladys loved canning the produce and sharing it with others. He loved to make jerky. When people came to visit he always sent some home with them. He loved working with wood making many special things.
