roo roosevelt 0 levelt was the man about whom this was Nv written ritten in 1908 in the republican platform was true then 11 Is rue NO W in this the great era of american advancement the republican party has ha reached its if highest ser eer vice under the leadership of theodore roosevelt his administration tc Is an epoch in american history IN NO OTHER PERIOD SINCE NATIONAL sovereignty WAS WON UNDER washington OR PRESERVED UNDER LINCOLN LINCOL Nf HAS THERE SEEN BEEN SUCH MIGHTY PROGRESS IN THOSE IDEALS OF government WHICH MAKE FOR JUSTICE EQUALITY AND FAIR DEALING AMONG MEN I 1 the great accomplishments of president roosevelt have been first and foremost a brave and impartial enforcement of the law THE prosecution OF ILLEGAL TRUSTS AND monopolies the ex and punishment of evildoers in the public service the more effective effect lve ivia regulation of the rates and service of the great transportation lines the completo complete overthrow of preferences rebates and discriminations the arbitration of labor disputes the amelioration of the condition of wage everywhere the conservation of the national resources of the country the forward step in the improvement of the inland waterways and always the earniest support and defense of every wholesome safeguard which has made more secure the guarantees of life liberty arid and property these are the achievements that will make for theodore roosevelt his place in history but more than all else the great things that ho he has done will be an inspiration to thou who have yet greater things to do we declare our unfaltering adherence to the th policy thus inaugurated and pledge their continuance ti nuance under a republican administration of the government I 1 the people money interest who fought mr air taft most bitterly four years ago on this platform are today mr air tafts tafta strongest supporters T because mr air tatt taft changed his attitude immediately after hla his election to office mr air roosevelt has haa not changed his bis policy he Is the same today as four years ago but he could not get his policies carried out under mr air tofts tafts administration as had been guaranteed the public in the 1908 platform so BO he had to organize a new party through which the not the capitalist alone could carry on his high ideas of public government for the people avery man who wants honest clean administration should vote for or theodore roosevelt and the balance of the progressive ticket the nation will be won as it was won by lincoln in 1860 let the people do their duty to use all honorable means for the enactment of such legislation as will tend to the development of our great resources aid the promotion of our agricultural commercial and educational interests to the end that the ulillah basin and uintah county may ultimately become what it Is destined to be a great inland empire of northeastern utah tho the republican county convention was an era of good feeling and tor for
