Funeral services were held March 4 at the LDS Church in Cody. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery in Cody. w Robert Kenneth Renwick Robert Kenneth Renwick, age 81, passed away March 3, 2003, at his home in Roosevelt. He was bom August 21, 1921 in Healdton, Ok la , a son of Robert Franklin "Papa" and Fessie Mae Johnston "Mommy Fou" Renwick. He married Fdith Adele I.ambcth, they later divorced He married Jackie Adams on May 31, 1968 in Vernal. Robert wotked in the oilfields as a dulling superintendent and was a member of the Masonic Hodge in Stinctt. Texas He served in the Navy during World War IJ. Robert was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Fatter-da- y Saints and served as a scout master He enjoyed fishing, camping, barbecuing, joking and teasing with people and being with his family. his was W'oodworking hobby. After a severe heart attack in 1977, family and friends became the dearest things in his life He is survived by his wufe, Jackie, children, Sandra Diane (Ron) Bloomquist ol Santa Clara, John Robert (Jayleen) Renwick of Roosevelt. Joseph Justin (Christy) Renwick ol Vernal, 12 grandchil- - dren; and was loved by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted March 7, at 1 p m. in the Vernal 9th Ward LDS Chapel. DARE graduates win essay contest The DARE program at Discovery Fifth Grade Center recently held a combined graduation and essay winner award event under the direction of local law enforcement officers. Officers Holly Dick of the Vernal City Police, Steve Howe of the Naples Police, Bevin Watkins of the Uintah Sheriff's County Department and his dog, Ben, are the current DARE teachers at DiscSYery,' The' Class 'hieCts' three times each week and each officer is responsible for one day per week in the 1 program. The essays written hy the students give a broad overview of what they learned in the program and how they were affected by their new knowledge. The students comment ed that they are better able to say, No! to drugs after finishing the course and to ward off that bane of students everywhere: peer pressure. They also demonstrate an understanding of the dangers of drug use and the violence that often accompanies it. Speaking of the DARE program. Officer Watkins said, If it helps one kid, its worth it. James Richards, Tyrell M. Richards and Ronald K. Richards. Honorary pallbearers were the grandsons. Compassionate services provided by Ashley Creek Ward Relief Funeral services for Wanda Collier Richards, April 21, 1918 to Feb. 22, 2003, were held Feb. 26 at the Ashley Creek Ward. Bishop Krag Parker officiated the service, with Ruth Stephenson performing the prelude and postlude music. Tyrell Richards gave the family prayer and Clifford Richards gave the invocation. Camille Swain then performed the mus cal number, In the Garden, with accompaniment by Linda Swain. Karl Swain followed with the obituary and remarks, after w'hich Kristine Cooper gave remarks and poems, Pat Evans then spoke. A musical number sung by the grandchildren and followed, 1 am a thild of God, As I Have Society. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of Spafford Funeral Home. We would like to thank all those who were so kind to us in the recent and sudden loss of our most devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather, Jack R. Wallis.
