Margo is currently the manager man-ager for the Vernal office for Utah Department of Workforce Services. She participates in a health care task force, which was instrumental in enhancing educational opportunities for nursing students in the Basin and serves in the Uintah Basin Homeless Coalition. Margo is on the planning committee for the annual Chamber Business Symposium and the chamber radio auction committee and has served on Trees for Charity committee from its inception and donates trees most years. Margo also volunteers and helps with flower planting on Main Street yearly, has participated par-ticipated in Santa's Community Effort and is a past member of the Uintah CountyVernal City Economic Development Board. Annually she oversees a community com-munity project. Past projects have included tree planting at Naples Park, Turn Off the TV Week at Uintah County Library and outdoor play equipment at Turning Point Homeless Shelter. Shel-ter. She volunteers to help with school activities such as Reality Town and Mock Job Interviews. After being named the Utah State UniversityUintah High School stock market simulation champion for spring term, Caitlin McRae said the was "Just lucky I guess." "It was more than luck," said Mark Holmes, instructor of the USU personal finance class. "Caitlin had a well diversified strategy, paid attention to market news and acted upon the trends that were present." "In class, I run a 40- to 50-week 50-week stock market simulation," he explains. "Caitlin achieved a very impressive 54 percent return on her investments. It's great to see our students learn the perils of something like credit card debt and compare them to the enormous possibilities of starting an investment plan early in life." Her sister, Marie Peterson Peter-son Spurlock, called to identify the child. She believes it was taken in the early 1950s, maybe 1952 or 1954. This photograph along with others is housed at the Regional History Room of the Uintah County Library. There is no identification on the photograph and library curators would love to know what the photo represents. repre-sents. Performance presents musical success Uintah School of Music and the Arts ended its 2007-08 academic school year Saturday, May 17 at the 25 Annual Silver Tea. Twinkle Graduation certificates were presented to violin students Jessica Antillon, Brooke Baker, Ashley Court and Grace Poole; viola students Rachael Gordon and Diane Huffman; bass student Chris Kenny; cello students Mikayla Duncan, Dante Zubel and Chad Mangum; piano student Haley Oldham and guitar students Aaron Dockins, Spencer Bolton and Shelby Oviatt. Level Graduation certificates were earned by Chris Kenny; bass level 1, James Percival and Dennis Garcia; cello level 2, Sam Wright; bass level 2, Jacob Percival and Emma Wright; violin level 3, Lynnette Richardson; violin level 4 and Adam Austin; cello level 4. American Federation of Music Clubs level 1 trophies were earned by RaeAnna Ellis, Corey Ross, Emma Wright and Sam Wright. Level 2 trophies were earned by Lynnette Richardson, Trestyn Oldham and Marquita Slaugh. Seventeen students received Federation certificates for sequential superior. Trestyn Oldham and Marquita Slaugh received the top award for six consecutive years of superior ratings. They were followed by Adam Austin, RaeAnna Ellis, Corey Ross, Emma Wright and Sam Wright for three years; Darby Boren, Ciera Dockins, Aaron Dockins, Kateyn Huffman and Amanda Poole for two years. Haley Oldham, Rachael Gordon, Chris Kenny , Brittany Shurtliff and Steffany Shurtliff received their first sequential awards. Special gifts were presented to USOMATA seniors Sam Wright, Jacob Percival and staff member Carl Shurtliff. Lynelle Raymond didn't expect to have a Christmas baby but she got a surprise Christmas package delivered right on Christmas Eve. Hyrum Joshua Raymond was due somewhere near the 7 of January, but on December 23r(, Lynelle went into labor and delivered early Christmas Eve. "My physician, Dr. Griffith, was wonderful through the entire pregnancy. I would make a mental list of questions to ask him during my office visits, but he always answered them before I could ask. He took the time to talk with me, and I appreciated that." Dr. Griffith had told Lynelle he would be out of town for the Christmas holiday, but Lynelle wasn't worried because Hyrum wasn't due, but then she received a Christmas surprise. "Dr. Breitenbach arrived to assist with Hyrum's delivery, he was so nice, cracking jokes and putting me completely at ease. It was a wonderful experience to have two great doctors help with Hyrum." f s Lynelle also appreciated the care given by the nursing staff and the beautiful new rooms to stay in. Her husband, i Jeremy, and daughter, Kayloni, slept on the pull out bed in " i the room and they were all together for Christmas Eve. "It made Christmas nice even though we were in the hospital," said Lynelle. "It was a wonderful experience and I would tell others to have their babies at Ashley Regional."
