N Smokie Chivers Honored at Saturday Funeral Services Strikes DAVIS Funeral services were held Saturday for Lowell Nathan Smokie Chivers 55 who died April 12 in Salt Lake City following a lingering illness PRAYER AT the mortuary was by El EI Ray Duncan Prelude and postlude music musie at the services was furnished by bya a nephew Steven Duncan The services were held in the Uintah Stake Center under the direction of the Davis Ward Bishopric with Bishop Marvin Jackson officiating Mark Duncan nephew of the deceased opened the services by singing That Silver Silver Silver Sil Sil- Sil- Sil ver Haired Daddy of Mine following was the opening prayer offered by Kay Merkley BISHOP JACKSON read the obituary and speakers were Art Boren Arden Stewart and Judge Lawrence Perry Bishop Bishop Bis Bis- hop Jackson offered consoling remarks Dorothy Luck sang Kentucky and was accompanied by Mark Duncan on the guitar Mr Duncan closed the services services ser ser- vices singing In The Garden Benedi Benediction Benediction Bene Bene- di diction tion was by Ervin Simper PALLBEARERS WERE Giles Weldon Dewayne Chivers Bob Carl Richardson and Scott Merkley i Glen Chivers offered the dedicatory prayer at atthe the grave Mr Chivers was buried at the Vernal Mem Memorial orial Park Cemetery Mr Chivers was born to Nathan Charles Charles Char Char- les and Mattie Collier Chivers Novem Novem- November ber 23 1917 they him in death He married Mary Ellsworth and was later divorced Two children were born of this union Lola who is deceased and Sandra andra HE MARRIED Donna Richardson Spencer in 1946 at Leadville Colorado Mr Chivers is survived by his widow Donna two sons sons Earnest and Wesley all aU of Salt Lake City one daughter Sandra Sandra Sandra San San- dra of Arkansas He lie is also survived by three stepchildren stepchildren stepchildren step step- children Mrs Otis Lavon John L L.
