Show LOVED PIONEER OF GLINES GOES TO FINAL REWARD 11 9 DESERET alexanderi ALEXAN ALEXANDER DEli THE FIRST WHITE CHILD BORN IN MIDWAY UTAH DIES IN WARD WAS LOVED BY ALL front from our glines correspondent friday february 24 1922 mrs deseret bonnor donner alexander died after a lingering illness of many mont months alexander w ann 0 the yel ti abild h born in midway utah january 14 1862 at this time midway was a desert and this la Is how she received the name of deseret bhe she was a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints and was a faithful and untiring worker in the different organizations of the church in her early life she devoted much of at her bar time to the primary and Y L it 1 I A later years she has been a ver very active member a athe relief society society and up to the time of her death was a teacher of that org organization ani mrs alexander was wag a resident of glines ward for thirty nine years for a number of years she took care and was a mother to her sisters orphan children last spring she went to midway utah her old homo home to be with her aged mother in her last illness she came home and since hat that ti been tn irn very poor health abo about ut a month ago she became bed fast and suffered very much until the end came aunt dezzle ae she was waa called was aej loved by all who knew her the memory of at her kind and loving deeds and her charitable disposition will ever remain in the hearts of those who knew her hir there is scarcely a home in this community that has not felt her comforting influence in sickness sorrow or death mrs alexander was married in 1881 to alvah alexander of midway utah to them one son was born allio alexander of at vernal he her husband preceded her hei in death about two years she is survived by her son three grandchildren and the following brot brothers herh and sisters mrs mccurdy vernal william bonner donner and thomas bonner donner midway mrs anna nelson heber and jane epperson of salt lake city those living in outside points were vere unable to be present at the funeral on account of the bad roads funeral ver services vices were held in the glines ward meeting house monday february at I 1 bishop M M batty presided tho the choir sang beautiful isle of somewhere prayer was offered ay by counselor john n baton eaton williaim Will baim pearce accompanied by the choir sang my redeemer lives the speakers were james hacking and bishop batty they gave an asso assurance urance of the resurrection and offered comforting and iZon consoling soling word to the bereaved a song was wag sung by the girls chorus como unto jesus benediction by james hacking the floral tributes ware were many and beautiful A large crowd of friends and came to pay their last respects to the departed interment was made in fn the glines maesar coi cemetery the grave being dedicated by bishop batty those attending the funeral from reservation points were mr and aud mrs airs james hair mr 16 and mrs wailace Wai lace laco shelton arid add mrs leia lela nye all of ducheane pu chesne mr and mrs robert mccurdy mr and mrs bits george shelton and mr and mrs mp S B shelton all of roosevelt |
