Show died in salt lukea private telegram received here thursday gave the sad information that mrs R al pearce wife of sylvester pearce had died suddenly at tho the groves L D S hospital at salt lake city the relatives were requested to hasten to price wil with 1 conveyance to bring the remains to vernal mrs pierce bierce with her daughters leona and anabella and her son george left lef t here about a week ago for salt lake that she might receive treatment forcanser for cancer evidently she succumbed while undergoing the operation or immediately afterwards site she is one of the old residents of maeser though a few years were spent in arizona us as the tha pearce family moved away from the valley during the early eighties but returned to maeser a few years ago deceased was the eldest daughter of william G and mellissa reynolds was well and favorably known and was a woman of the highest character therefore her sudden and unexpected death will be a severe shock to her numerous circle of friends since the above was placed in type we have received the following ad dit tunal information regarding mrs airs pearce she has been a suf sufferer Bufler lerer er for years from cancer of the breast but owing to the fortitude with which she has borne her sufferings N very ery few people were aware that she was so severe ly afflicted her death occurred wednesday evening june buatta enty four hours alter she was placed in lh di hospital it is not known when the remains will retch reich maeser but upon arrival t e I 1 will aill be held and the remains interred in the maeser roselthia rosalth ia al elissa pe peirce ime vas as born at aurida livingstone county new york on september 13 1844 with her fathers family she moved to Mich and again to utah in 1854 she was mir married ried to sylvester pearce at cleber bieber city on december 1 13 1864 her children number ten five of whom two sons and three daughters are still living coming to utah as she did at such an early date makes her a pioneer and one of the empire builders of the west in religion she was a consistent and faithful latter day saint at the time of her death she held the offices of aid in the relief society and counselor in the primary of maeser ward the grief stricken relatives are assured of the deepest sympathy of our whole community |
