Show Thursday, June 10, 1965 irl Scout Corner Recent Girl Scout activities in the Kearns Neighborhood are humming, as girls in the local troops begin summer activities. Junior Troop 71, led by MrsJ Freddie Robertson, has come pleted wishing wells from with decorated and sticks artificial flowers. The girls have been learning about plastic bag safety, and along with their school activities, have been applying requirements for the Active Citizenship Badge which includes community safety. They have been working orr the Back Yard Fun and Collector pop-sicl- Badges. Brownie Troop 18 participated in a Fly Up Ceremony recently. Mrs. Ross Lawrence, leader, listed the girls who flew up as, Jewell Fast, Kathleen Hall, Cathy Lawrence, Julia Larson, Deanna Howell, Tanya Storch and Debra Stoker. A cookout was part of the program. Members of Junior Troop 387 received several first year stars stars at a and eight three-yea- r recent meeting, and Jean Ann Newman was presented with her five-yepin, said Mrs. Kenneth Nebeker, leader. ar THE VALLEY VIEW NEWS Corned Beef and Cheese. Brownie Troop 425, and their leader, Mrs. J. M. Snow, were guests on the Fireman Frank Show. The visit included a tour of the TV station that was highlighted when a station director showed the girls an extremely compact survival kit and explained the functions it was designed to serve. Members are presently working on Fathers Day gifts. Junior Troop 180, led by Mrs. John Glaze, was visited last week by Karen West, a senior Girl Scout. Miss West demonstrated knot tying skills and first aid methods. She is a member of a special senior Girl Scout Troop visiting project. Members of the troop have on also made buddy-burner-s which they cooked eggs. The troop is presently plancamping trip ning a four-dafor July and is working on menus, kaper charts, eating equipment and dunk bags.
