Kearns Pool Opens June I 5 The Salt Lake County Recrea tion Dept, has announced the opening of the Kearns swimming pool on June 15 and programs that will be sponsored at the pool. Supt. Paul S. There will be no charge in connection with this instruction except in cases where purchase of materials is necessary, as in the arts and crafts program. In this area, the playground program will operate Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, and from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the following schools: Daily: Granger Elementary. Western Hills, South Kearns, David Gourley and West Kearns. Morning only: Whittier, Taylorsville Elementary, Academy Park, and Hillsdale. Afternoon only: Monroe, John C. Fremont, and Oquirrh Hills. This program is welcomed by both parents and children, providing worthwhile activities for young people during summer months. The Pirates Swim Club is open to boys and girls between 6 and 18 who are qualified swimmers. A new club has been formed by parents of boys in the Pirates Swim Club to raise funds for competition swim out-of-sta- te meets. The group was organized in April and is open to parents who have children who can qualify for the team. A meeting has been scheduled for Friday, June 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the home of Mr. and Mrs. A1 St. Stephens Episcopal Stephens Episcopal Mission.. Approximately 25 young people from St. Stephens Mission are attending a Bible School, held outdoors at the vicarage, 4615 So. 3200 West. Theme of the Bible School is God In Nature. The classes are using clay, leaves, and other things from nature in their arts and crafts. They are also taking nature walks and cooking their lunches out of doors each day. Mrs. Edith Whittaker, superintendent of the Sunday School, is in charge of the Bible School. Mrs. Ellenora Judd, Mrs. Karen Akin, and Mrs. Madge Martell are the leaders of the classes. Assisting the leaders are Helen Webber, Susan Baker and Jim Barkle. The classes will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
