With divine daring, He gave us the power of Thus spoke the late choice. Cecil B. DeMille shortly after completing the epoch making movie production of the Ten Commandments. The basis of modern law is founded upon the ten statements written anciently by the finger of God upon tablets of stone and given to Moses to declare to Israel. d Do you know what is Command-mentS! in the Ten More important, is your, life in conformity therewith? To find new scientific truth requires individual initiative. 'Such choice experiences of finding truth do not come without personal effort, without dedicated search. That which most perplexes man in his Origin, his Purpose, his Destiny. These answers are found when men search for spiritual truths. When it comes to searching 9. is Charles (Chuck) Miles, a student from Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Oregon, an undergraduate preparatory school for seminary. The program is an experiment with a two-fol- d purpose, deCecil for the Rev. signed by benefit of the young people of the church, as well as to stimulate adult leadership. Meetings for young people of junior and senior high school age will be held at the church each Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for study, recreation' and fellowship to meet the social and spiritual needs of the youth. This Thursday the group! will hold a homemade ice cream social on the church lawn. Theyi will make the ice cream in small freezers, and serve it with cake and cold pop. The event is being sponsored by the senior high group of the Christian Youth Fellowship (CY!F). Both Mr. Miles and his lovely wife, Sylvia, will participate as counselors at Chi Rho Camp in the Minidoka National Forest near Hansen, Idaho,, the first two weeks of August for senior high youth. A similar camp in the same location will be held) for junior high youth the second week of August, with Rev. Cecil acting as counselor. Mrs. Miles will serve as a teacher for Vacation Bible School at the church the middle two weeks of August. While they are visting in the area, the couple is staying at 5568 So. 4120 West, a home do-nated by a member of the Salt Lake congregation. Prior to theii arrival, the Granger congregation cleaned and furnished the home, celebrating with a watermelon feed after. The program will continue throughout the summer, and is expected to come to close after Labor Day. out spiritual truth man seems to assume that such is to come to him without effort. Apathy and prejudice are two of the great- est causes preventing man from enjoying new religious experiences. This condition is not only a product of our modem society, but was also true anciently. The Savior constantly urged the Pharisees and Sadducees to set aside from their preconceived idea and honestly investigate His declaration that He was literally the Son of God. They didnt seem to recognize that God has placed upon man the obligation to seek spiritual knowledge as well as material knowledge. Frederick the Great seemed to give us even today a challenge when he said: The greatest and noblest pleasure which man can have in the world is to discover ne wtruths, and the next is to shake off old prejudices.
