October will be observed as United Nations Week throughout the world. The Jayeees have sent letters to the school district and district PTA president, recommending that a description of the aims and activities of the United Nations be given to students. Civic organizations are encouraged to invite exchange students or visitors from foreign countries to speak to them about their "native lands in an effort to further good international relations. The program is in line with a global program of Junior Chamber International to ease world tensions through improved international relations, with accent on the role of the United Nations in preserving peace and goodwill. The purpose of the United Nations, chartered by 51 nations on June 26, 1945 at San Francisco, is "to maintain peace and security in the world, to develop friendly relations amongst nations, and to work to eliminate poverty, disease and illiteracy in a world where each nations rights and freedoms agencies. Music for the dance will be presented by the Rhythm Valley Mountain Boys, a western band. Light refreshments will be served, and the drawing will take place at 11 p.m. Members, friends and guests are invited to attend. According to Salt Lake County Fire Chief Frank P.
