They enjoy using the living facilities at the new station. Our new station boasts a 1,000 gallon pumper, and a 750 gallon pumper, and a grass fire unit, which seems to be in constant use during this hot, dry spell. There is one request the firemen make: When the whistle blows, teach children to get off the street. A childs life might be saved if an engine roars past and does not hit him. 'As it is now, the minute the whistle blows, children make a bee line for the station and the fiermen have a rough time getting the trucks on their way. 4-- H H . a!' $ s I J' I Kearns LDS Ward Receives New Bishopric Member Arlin Glines, former president of the 1st Quorum of Elders was chosen and sustained as 2ndcounselor to Bishop Earl Stevens of the Kearns Ward on Sunday, July 10, under the direction of Merrill A. The following year, in September, the church was officially dedicated. A recreation hall was built in 1957, west of the main church building. Shortly after completion of the hall, a kindergarten school was started. In addition to use for church functions, the hall has been made available to many community groups in Kearns. At present, under the guidance of Father Benvegnu, the SL Francis Xavier Church of Kearns is planning an expansion program. 0) -i w CD h- Fastest Growing Community CD P7 f The dtr 3 cr h4 o Hj CJ c as T |
