As long as she can remember, Miss Parrish says, she has wanted to be a teacher, and worked toward this goal. Joyce was born in Salt Lake City and spent her early life in the communities of Moab and Nephi, Utah. In 1950 she moved, with her family to Salt Lake County. Miss Parrish attended Valley Junior, Granite High and was graduated from Utah State University in 1958. This fall she is beginning her second year as a second grade teacher in the West Kearns School. They have two child'en, a daughter, Lorie Ann, who is two years old, and a son Bryan Wayne, who is nearly two months old. At the present time Wayne is serving as second counselor in the bishopric of the Granger Seventh Ward, which position he has held for. four years. Mr. Garrett attended the Madison School and was graduated with the clas sof 1948 from Granite High School. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Utah in 1955 after having served in the army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean conflict. Wayne has taught two years with the fourth grade at Whittier School and transferred to West Kearns where he now is. He is interested in woodworking, electricity, art, mechanics, sports and gardening. His future plans are to work on his masters degree.
