SALT LAKE CITY OBITUARIES computerized alert system used to prevent adverse drug reactions and to keep medication as safe levels, is now in operation at LDS Hospital, according to David B. Wirthlin, hospital administrator. The setup, called Medication Monitoring System (MMS), identifies possible harmful effects drug combinations and drug dosages will have on patients and alerts the physician with specific information and suggestion for alternative methods of care. The computer is programmed to do what the said expert would do, Homer R. Warner, M.D., the man who first applied computers to medicine at LDS HOspital 20 years ago. Today the hospital is recognized as a leading institution in this area of medicine.
