The Sensation Machine Hunt Opening Dates Scheduled Utah Fish and Game officials announced opening dates for several Utah hunting seasons early this year to allow many of the 200,000 persons who buy hunting licenses to plan vacations or days off for their favorite hupting season. General deer season will open October 18; by law this season must open on the Saturday closest to October 20th each year. For the bird hunting enthusiast the first season will be the dove hunt which opens on September 1, 1969. September 27 marks the opening date for chukars, Hun- garian Patrldge, cottontail, forest grouse and sage grouse. Pheasant season, the most popular bird hunt will open on November 1st. Quail season opens concurrently with pheasant season. Duck season will not be set until late August.
