Show Thursday, February 23, 1961 THE VALLEY VIEW NEWS Kearns Jaycees Announce Safety Winners The Kearns Jaycees have announced the winners of their Traffic Doll Safety Coloring Contest, which was carried put in the second grades of all the elementary schools of Kearns. This project stressed to the children the importance of safety going to and from school. The four winners who were awarded Achievement Trophies for their outstanding coloring kits were Allen Cloyd Gines of South Kearns, Steven Eklund of David Gourley, Christie Mattsson of Oquirrh Hills and DeAnn Isackson of West Kearns. Assembly of God Rev. Don Anderson, pastor of the Kearns Assembly of God, was of elected vice president-secretar- y the Utah Gospel Fellowship Association at a meeting held in Salt Lake City this past week. First Baptist Church The First Baptist Church of Kearns is in a Training Union Enlargement Program. The Training Union organization meets each Sunday evening at 6:30 at the chruch. The purpose of the union is to inform and to better train the membership in understanding the Bible and the church practices. The purpose of the enlargement program is to enlarge this organization and to train present leaders. The church is meeting each evening this week at 7 p.m. for training. All ages are included in this 109. Honored at this dinner was Mr. Gene Healy, who for so long has done such wonderful work with these and other young men of the scouts. Father Benvegnu was a guest at the dinner and the pack introduced their new Cub Master, Mr. Vince Keith. Conrad Hoyer, associate executive secretary, Division of Home Missions, National Council of Churches of Christ in the United States was the guest at an informal gathering at the home of Pastor and Mrs. Carl Samuelson on Thursday, Feb. 16. Dr. Hoyer who stopped over on route to a Regional Planning Institute meeting in California, met with Lutheran Pastors and their wives from the Salt Lake Luther Leaguers from St. Pauls Lutheran oined with Luther Leaguers from Tabor Lutheran in Salt Lake City Sunday afternoon for a Toboggan Party held at Bonneville Golf Course.
