The residents of Kearns should check this carefully and become familiar with this proposed improvement. The total cost of the project and the individual costs are estimated figures only. The cost to the home owner cannot exceed this amount but could be less. The cost may be handled in two ways, by paying the full amount upon completion of the job or paying over a ten -- year period. The hearing will be conducted January 23rd at 10:30 A.M. at the County Commission Chambers in the City and County Building. TOWN COUNCIL HEARS REPORT Kearns Town Council, under its new chairman, Orin Hunter, heard several reports from the various committees. 'Sybil Barton, chairman of civic improvements, reported on the proposed Civic Center Building. The committee under the chairmanship of Bill Petusky, is progressing very satisfactory. Joe Dillier and Donald Pearce reported on the Sub for Santa project. Only a few names were to be checked out. Mrs. LaRette ' Cunningham reported on the PTA meeting at the junior high school relative to the need for schools in Keam?. She Mrs. Cunningham presented a letter from Elmer J. Hartvigsen, Supt of Schools for the Granite School District. He advised the building program as follows: Kearns Junior High School addition (this is almost complete). Hillsdale Elementary School, Skyline High School, (bids to be open sometime in February), andthe Western Hills Elementary SchooL These buildings were submitted in May of 1960 and were approved by the State Board of Education.
