From Oquirrh Hills to Miss Connie Johnson, who'll leave for France to teach at a school for American Air Force dependents, Miss Cirlaine Foster, who is leaving to get married and make a home in Maine, and to Mrs. Laura Glad, who is joining her husband in Phoenix, Arizona, where she will make her home. From South Kearns to Mrs. Gem McCann, who'll attend the University of Hawaii this Summer, to Mrs. Ruth Andrews, who is making plans for a visit to New York, to Linnie Wyatt, who'll vacation' in California and to Mrs- Johnette Jameson, who'll make her home in Corinne, Utah. LOGAN Several students from Salt Lake County high schools have been awarded scholarships to Utah State University for the 1959-6- 0 school year, J. Elliott Cameron, dean of students at USU, announced. The scholarships are presented to outstanding students from high schools in Utah. Most are tuition scholarships, which pay the to the university provided he maintains a good scholastic record, but several are from special sources. Students offered scholarships to Utah State represent only about three per cent of this years high school graduates from Utah schools, Dean Cameron said. Named for the scholarships are: Cyprus High School: Glenda Marie Laird; Granger High School: Elizabeth Bullock (Girls State), Rosemary Ellis, Ann Imlay, Roy Whitworth (Normal), Duane Boyce Labrum, Ruleen Holder. Granite High School: Sam Zi-gros- si. Grantsville High School: Irene Castagno and Saundra Sutton (Girls State), and Lane Kent Anderson. Jordan High School: Joseph Blaine Kearsley (Tool Engineer), Victoria Nebeker and Evelyn Reed. VALLEY VIEW NEWS CLASSIFIED The leaders of the North and South neighborhood groups of the Oquirrh District of the girl scouts met last week for their Leaders Training program. At this time instructions were given to the leaders and preparation made for Girl Scout Day Camp that will be held the first week in June. Day Camp will start at 10 a.m. Junse 1st. Camp will last until 3 p.m. every day through to June 5th. Twenty Girl Scout leaders met under the direction of Mrs. Gloria Parkin. 300 girls and leaders are expected to participate in the weeks activities. Parents are asked to help by keeping children away from the camp site that will be located in an area at the north west, corner of Kearns.
