"Mrs. V. Lucile Hutchings, There were 200 Senior Citizens in attendance, and the awards were presented by Mr. Harold Woolley, Vice President of KCPX; Miss Diane Felt, Public Relations Director of KCPX also attended. The attached list gives the names of award winners. Another anniversary party is coming up. Metropolitan Salt Lake Services for the Aging will be honoring Friendly Visitor volunteers who have given so many hours of their time and to themselves aid Executive Metropolitan Salt Lake Services for the Aging with 34 trophies awarded to the Senior Citizens of Friendly Neighborhood Group 1 on August 3, 1972. This was the 4th anniversary the homebound Senior Citizens. On Tuesday, October 3, 1972 Friendly Visitors will be honored and recognized at a party, and also receive their party of Friendly 1." Group Neighborhood Salt Lake Metropolitan Services for the Aging's program of Meal on Wheels delivered the first bulk meals to Central City awards. Meals served, 59,973; MOW on Wednesday, August 30, 1972 both programs being clients, 718; FNG members, 1,464; Bowling members, 125; Items sold Almostnew Shop, 805; Graduation certificates awarded at Physical Fitness, 87; Friendly Visitors contracted, 7,210. - components THE TWIN TOWERS WHICH WILL RISE SKYWARD TO HOUSE SENIOR CITIZENS OF UTAH. Also on Monday, August 28, 1972 the American Association of Retired Persons from Murray had 78 bulk meals served to them. . bohkhs Quality of o Fair Price The Senior Citizen group from Sandy- - the Draper-Cresce- nt area (Independent Living Project) came to Friendly Neighborhood Group 11 at 156 Westminster Avenue on Friday, August 25, 1972. At Friendly Neighborhood Group 11 (which is sponsored by Metropolitan Salt Lake Services for the Aging) the seniors were entertained by the Kitchen Aires Band (another project of Metropolitan Salt Lake Services CALENDAR FOR SENIOR CITIZENS Mondays: 10 a.m. - Kitchen Aires practice. Tuesdays: 10:30 a.m. - Physical Fitness; 12:15 p.m. - Cards. Wednesdays: 9:00 ajn. -Bowling at Bonwood. Thursdays: 11 a.m. - FNG I Talent Time, Entertainment; 1:00 p.m. - Bingo. Fridays: 10 a.m. Almost new Shop open; 11 a.m. - FNG II Lunch, entertainment & games. for the Aging) under the direction of Amos Bronson. Until they organize their own group, they will continue to come each Friday to Friendly Neighborhood Group 1 1 at 156 LUNCH served every day at 11:30 ain. RECREATIONAL CENTER Free Drivers Training classes will begin Sept. 12th at 9:30 AM. The classes run for six consecutive weeks at the Senior Center (except a field trip to where you drive by Provo on the 5th Tuesday movie with free bus transportation leaving Center at 9:00 AM) Westminster Avenue. They are traveling as far as Magna to enteratin others and show them how much fun it is to keep your talents active by playing together in a group. Metropolitan Salt Lake Services for the Aging is starting the Senior Citizen Bowling 3 League on sponsored by Salt Lake Safety Council. Reservations should be made in advance either at the Center or through Penny Allred at 355-130Eight day trip leaving Center on Sept. 18th through Idaho, Oregon, California and Nevada. Cost per single $190.00 and double $155.00 (fee includes transportation, sightseeing, insurance, and all lodging). Itineraries are available at 0.
