Simpson, came to the Ragan Theater on March 10 to speak regarding the issue of domestic violence. Brown was directly affected by domestic violence on June 12,1994, when her sister Nicole Brown Simpson was viciously murdered. Inspired by Nicole's memory, Tanya and her family established The Nicole Brown Foundation, which is dedicated to educating the community on domestic violence. In response. the UVU Student Alumni Board (SAB) is asking for every student on campus to donate $1 in order to keep then classmates in school. • The "Giving of the Green' campaign, which began March 9 and will continue through March 17, has set up donation tables around campus. Students can also give online by going to uvu.eduv giving and selecting "Giving of the Green" as their designation. SAB has also organized a St. Patrick's Day concert featuring local bands Fictionist, Vibrant Sound, Imagine Dragons and Shark Speed. The concert will be held in the UVU Ballroom at 8 p.m. Those who donate more than $10 to the "Giving of the Green" campaign will get in free, $5 donations will allow students to purchase tickets ai a discounted price of $2. The goal of the campaign is to raise $7,000 to $8,00C to put towards UVU studeni financial scholarships. This includes student donations, concert proceeds, as well as donations from DigiCert.
