Krystal Guerra The Orem LDS Institute of Religion adjacent to the UVU Campus held a talent show on Friday evening called: "An Evening on Broadway." Students performed scenes from Wicked, My Fair Lady, High School Musical, Les Miserables and others. Popular Broadway songs were sung and performed instrumental^, such as a rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow played on an upsidedown violin, as well as Chopsticks, performed by Ellen Amatangelo & Josh Sackett. A Broadway montage was also performed by the Institute's own talented ventriloquist, Brother Keith Longmore and his sidekick, Doug. Friends and family gathered in the Insitute's gymnasium as they enjoyed a night of entertainment and the amazing talents of those who performed. Trent Bates/UVU Review The two team vying for the executive offices in UVUSA, Team Engaged and Team UVoice, debated the issues during campaign week last Tuesday. A record-breaking student turn-out may be a reflection of the number of students getting involved in the election. Or could have been fueled by the free burgers. Either way, the debate gave the candidates the opportunity to share their ideas and speak to the students body. Team UVoice won the election and will represent the student body the 2009-2010 school year. Check out the debate: http://www.Vimeo.com/3473169 |
