Show life MONDAY-AUGUST 1*2005 Theater Crashers Wedding Crashers Which is better...Christmas or wedding season? This summer's funniest movie, "Wedding Crashers," starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, argues in defense of the latter. Wedding Crashers is about best friend divorce lawyers (Wilson and Vaughn), who have transformed crashing weddings to an art form in order to get girls. However, their life's pursuit is threatened when Wilson actually falls for one of his prey (Ra,,,, -"" chel Me Adams). It's been said that not since Belushi and Aykroyd, has there been a better comedic duo. This is true; but there are so many others who contributed to this comic genius. Christopher Walken is the perfect scary dad with a heart. Rachel McAdams will make you fall in love with her. Isla Fisher is a great "stagc-five-clinger," Jane Seymour is nuts, you'll love to hate Bradley Cooper, and Keir O'Donnell, along with the rest of the family, is hilariously creepy. There are few movies that have made me laugh this hard in a theater; so hard, in fact, that there were times I couldn't hear the dialogue so [ had to see it again. (I'm still not sure exactly what was said in a couple of scenes, to be honest). However, while it seems I am endorsing this movie to all, I feel it very necessary to issue a warning: this movie is VERY R-rated. I actually feel guilty knowing that Til probably see it again. In-VINCE-able: It's crude, it's crass, it's hilarious! Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn star in one of the funniest movies of the year. Cusack plays his romantic purist, theory driven, pioneer-punk-band t-shirt-andtrench-coat-wearing character better than ever in "Must Love Dogs." Part romance, pan comedy, and some smart dialogue make up this late summer flick. John Cusack and Diane Lane team up to portray the very impersonal world of online dating. Both newly divorced, the two find themselves amid the farce frenzy of an online dating service, where they are pushed by their so-called loved ones into an arranged meeting/date where they discover that they may have a connection worth more than their personality profiles. Like most formula movies, this one sticks true; they meet, sparks ignite, enter bachelor #2 for some trouble, and then the resolution: happily ever after. But then, that's why we love them. Even though director Rob Cohen was trying to make a film people would call action packed, I'm sure most people will find Stealth more hilarious than tense. Don't be fooled by the flood of advertisements showing action, great special effects, and Jessica Biel in a bikini. The action is corny and drawn out. The effects are great...half the time. And Jessica Biel only wears that thing for a few shots. Cohen has filled this film with every cliched corny moment you can possibly think of. Imagine a mix of Top Gun, Flight of he Navigator, Short Circuit, and Behind Enemy Lines and you've got Stealth. The only think it's good for is laughs. So when it hits the dollar theater, grab ten of your friends and dive into this horribly good movie just to rip it apart. 6 5 Butch Cassidy and the Bluebird Cafe Michelle Walker Life Editor Summer is almost over, but there are still three weeks to enjoy everything this great state has to offer. If you're like me. and the only thing you've managed to scratch off your summer checklist is "watch fireworks" (and even those were just sparklers at your family reunion), there is still hope.
