Show culture 04.12.2010 Fulfilling your Dying Need A chat with This Dying Need's Russ Lee as he picks up some sushi with his chopsticks. To talk about his band's upcoming show, Lee insisted I get sushi with him. I agreed and met him at a local joint called Sushi Ya. After considering his answer regarding his band's name, I take a bite of sushi. It's delicious. The usual interview questions start to come to mind Russ Lee, sushi loving frontman of - "So, what are you trying This Dying Need, talks about the mesto express in your music?" sage In his music. But despite Nsabimana's flight from his home country, he still holds dear the memories of Rwanda he had as a 9-yearold child. "I remember times when I use to run out to the safaris, watching gorillas and playing around," he said with a smile. Other than having fun playing around and watching gorillas as a child in Rwanda, Nsabimana also recalls the delicious meals of his home. "I remember I use to eat a lot of sweet potatoes and porridge every morning before I go to school," Nsabimana said. "It had a sweet unique taste that could not be resisted. It is very delicious." Rwandan food is something that Nsabimana misses a lot; some of his favorite foods are mizuzu, which is fried plantains and isombe, cassava leaves accompanied with eggplant and spinach. "If you like fries, you should try the mizuzu, they are very crunchy and the best," Nsabimana said. Another thing Nsabimana remembers about his country is the importance attached to a cow. It symbolizes the seriousness of one's attitude toward marriage. "The more cows one brings, the better chance he stands for getting the girl he wants to get married to," Nsabimana said. Wedding ceremonies are big events in Rwanda. They are mostly accompanied with music and dance, which plays a significant role in showing excellence and bravery on the men's part. The intore LOSEE JEWELERS & COMPANY dance (the elite or leader), backed with drumming, is a war dance displayed at various ceremonies, including weddings.
