Huh, under tlw Act i d 1MT at ta pat Utah alflea at LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENT Landscape Improvement is a bigger program than home beautification about which bo many people are con cerned. Home beautification is the beginning. Aii landscape improvement starts at the home. It is true also that if all homes were beautified no problem would exist regarding landscape improvement, for the countryside is made up of homes and communities of homes. Landscape improvement goes further, however, and makes each of us wour brother's keeper", for until our neighbor becomes conscoius of a beautification program little can be done about landscape improvement no matter how many individuals cooperate. That one lonely, forlorn and desolate house mars the entire landscape. That one unsightly fence, that huge pile of rubbish and the years of accumulation of barnyard manure at that wayside farmstead obliterate the work of all other who have improved their own premises. Furthermore it is not enough merely to clean up a place. It must be permanently improved. That means view of the matter. It planning, and a means also cooperation in planning, so that one home does not clash in its plans with another. This is where the committee's work comes in, for if one home were landscaped" it becomes a model for others, and similarly if one public building is improved other public buildings can likewise be made beautiful. This is where the Church program aids, for the use of films showing church-wid- e progress assists every community to do likewise. Here also is a legitimate use of newspaper publicity". Too many causes" are propagandized, but in landscape improvement surely no amount of publicity can be too great. Not alone does such improvement add to the material wealth of every community participating, but it adds satisfaction and pride in the minds and hearts of the people themselves which makes for stability and permanence of community life. long-ran- As To Health OOL 1 Karth Flirt Wart irn, 3C 2QSSI3ES NOTE With the new Utah Valley boapital now la opera-tol- a, Utah county should bo "alUIng pretty" ao Air aa ia concerned, but John K.
