Coleman Andrews, for a time UJ3. Internal Revenue director under President Elsenhower, Is author of a booklet which really set forth a shocking prediction of the nations ruination by high taxes and inflation. Some excerpts from the author's warnings: From 1939 when World War H and the present era of big spending were started until the end of 1957, no less than $200 billion of our life insurance and other savings went down the high tax and inflation drain . . . The present annual rate of this erosion is estimated at $15 billion and the annual rate of the rise in the cost of living at $10 billion. Those are the overall consequences of wasteful spending, high taxes, inflation, and other evils . . . You hear a lot about what has happened to the nations budget but nothing about what has happened to yours. 0 you were made aware of the extent to which you have been taken by the architects of the countrys present disastrous course, you might rise up and do something about it . . . with creeping inflation being turned into galloping insolvency, the ever mounting deterioration that may be expected by each and every one of us, until disaster finally overtakes us, if we do not soon take a militant hand in the situation and force If the taxes you just payed were not taken out of your salary for you, it would be impossible for the government to have such a high rate of taxes. Not one penny of your personal income tax is used by the Federal government to finance any part of the government: authorized by the Consitution of the United States of America. If one listened to the liberals (by liberals, we mean liberal spenders of our money) one would be forced to Conclude that we, as a nation have been sadly neglecting our schools.
