There were some in the Democratic party who felt that the Salt Lake Democrats should take a little more time to comb the field but these persona were agreeably surprised when they saw the character of the men who were offering themselves to the partys service. A better ticket could not have been selected if the Democrats had spent from now until election time weighing ttheir candidates. Good healthy rivalry for almost every position marked the convention. The contests were stirring but in no way bitter and the losers bowed to the will of the convention in a way that meant party success. Every Democrat, and in fact every decent Republican in Salt Lake county should hunt up the Democratic delegates from his or her district and shake their hands and say, Well done, thou good and faithful servant.
