The Student Life Editor is one of the most Important positions we have If the wrong man is elected it may mean that we shall read a por paper the greater part of the time during the next school year Perhaps it will be one with whom a staff cannot work congenially Trouble with a staff means trouble with the students the influence of which is bound to manifest itself in the material of the paper No one questions the fact that we now have the best paper ever put out by the students By selecting the man for the position the standard will be raised again the result being no question ns to the quality of the goods Boost for the editor with the goods The officers must bo leaders men who have the hearty support of aP or nt least the greater part of the students One of the greatest qualities of a student body officer is good wholesome unbiased judgment Influenced by no partiality whatever Ono who investigates a proposition accepts counsel but thoroughly and takes his chooses the right e ' i 4 stand builds up a fortification of arguments in support of his point of view that cannot be penetrated by the petitions of his friends and howling criticisms of his opposers If these qualities are lacking in the check it one you are supporting against him and follow down the list to the next name It is Now a word as to voting your duty as a student to be interested enough in the student body organization to cast your vote Past elections have shown that only about twodhirds of the students have voted Why not get busy and every person vote this time? Close friendship fraternity enshould thusiasm association etc have no influence whatever with oting Social organizations are essentially separate from the student body Any attempt at a social political machine should be squelched at once Vote for the man who will best fill the office The right officers elected will mean the right kind of spirit a good students body and a successful year to participate in athletics do not practice for the coming meet but simply turn out and compete when the meet takes place the plan of the athletic council will be at least a partial failure The plan formulated for the benefit of the students is well worth Only by getting our hearty support out and working however can we derive the intended good from the proposed contests Let’s make this plan a success and hand it down to the classes of the reputable magazine preferably Atlantic or Saturday Evening p0 and should be enthusiastic member of the Drama League” The article is very pertinent and replete with valuable suggestions characteristic of the author i ' Bouquet Jeanice The Most Exquisite future And SPRINGTIME Alluring (With Apologies to James Whitcomb Perfume Riley) up along Springtime and the river Clean out o’ sight o’ skule and skulkin under kiver underbrush and Of the foothills biuldin’ pussy-- illers — Idies all so jumbled up you kin hardly tell ’em! — Tired you know but lovin’ it and smilin’ jest to think ’at CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS Any sweeter tiredness you’r fairly want to drink it The action of the girls of the col- Tired o’ cramming — tired o’ skule — brains all out o’ kilter lege in voting not to wear flowers to the Prom Saturday night is one and Prom-tim- e up along worthy of the highest commenda- Springtime the ridges It assures us that common tion Strollin’ up the canyon trail loiterin’ sense is to govern the social funcon the bridges tions at the A C Though some of Parin’ off kinder like never ’pear to the girls may obtain much satisfacnotice tion from a bunch of American Don’t know here lie’s left his hat beauties they have wisely expressed Er keerin’ where her coat is their desire to forego this pleasure He’s specalatin’ more’n like and all and attend the Prom without any the time a quizzin’ floral decorations Bout some feller ats got the start The custom of wearing flowers and he thinks needs a and riding in taxis to ultra-formgettin’ up and skootln 'balls has come to be well fixed in o’ out liearin’ cur state but there is every reason why the students of the Agricultural Sunset and eatin’-tim- e homeward College should endeavor to repress now they’re wendin’ so meaningless an innovation The Somebody hollerin’ way around the needless expense incurred in this bend in upper trail — effort to make a show the spirit of Hungry but a hidin’ it er jos’ a not inequality which per force makes its a keerin — appearance and the unwillingness Hearts er whole lot lighter now of those unable to keep pace with fellers aint a fearin — the more fortunate few to attend Cross the rocks through wagon ruts the better socials amply justify a They’re limpin and a grinin determined effort on the part of the You bet goin’ to the Prom student body to do away with the Fer aint they’rebin a winnin’?
