for this has been largely that the graduates from the school go out into active work and seldom get a chance to come back sufficiently long to get in touch with the spirit of the school Even if they meet with the Alumni Association in the spring of the year it is but for a day’s visit There is so much to see and so much to do that they get but little acquaintance with the actual workings and needs of the school A meeting is held for an hour at which officers of the Association are elected for a year The meeting is usually made up of about 10 of old graduates and 90 of the class just passing out There is little time to give any thought or attention to what help the Association might offer to the school itself The officers who are thus elected at a meeting where so few of the older members are represented feel that if they do anything for the Alumni Association they are doing it largely on their own responsibility with no assurance that they are acting in accordance with the wishes of the entire body There is little time for deliberation on any matters pertaining to the school or the association at the time of the election After the election the President with his associates must act alone without authority from anyone and this he usually feels is presumptive especially if SHOES SOLED wiiim: you WAIT ALL WO UK (JUAIt-AXTEED C TROTMAN Free Delivery 36 North 1st
