department of the college received national recognition in the November 20 issue of "Opera News" a weekly magazine published by the Metropolitan opera guild as listed by the publication that Utah State is one of the few agricultural colleges in the nation which produces grand opera The magazine displayed several pictures of various operas produced by the college since the program was initiated
