As for any new sports to arrive at the college this seems doubtful at least for a while according to Taniguichi The only sport that is being considered right now is track and even that seems to be down the road for the college As for now the college administration is content to try and improve on the sports that they still have It will be unusual in the fall for next year's students to come to a college where there is not a football program "When the fall comes around the number one sport is hunting “ Taniguichi remarked laugh ingly but seriously he said that the football program will be a great loss to the students and the community Eagle Editor every student at CEU enrolled in a cooperative education course" W" Btigha® which she had bed working and ott for five years on instructing Page has been clLeJ in family life' Eastern Utah for !he College of was fonncrly nine years and dethe family life chairperson of she is direc tor o partment Now education and is cooperative manage- involved in a restaurant Dewsnup said “that would give them on the job training" Prior to obtaining her EdD she received her BA degree from the University of Utah in business and home economics Her composite major was in education and received her MS degree at the University of Iowa Dewsnup has also instructed courses at Southern Utah Slate College for fifteen years "I want to thank CEU and the Institutional Council for supporting my educational advancement" she said oReduced tuition colleges or programs of study are open at the reduced nonresident t i £7 IVmsm Kibonic Editor Entertainment Editor Trevor H Olsen Feature Editor AvaaThiyn Magam Sports Editor Elizabeth HMMmNMTimi Bisquere Reporters Brymt Laurel Gilbert Theresa Green Denise Marinos Lee Malhie Joel Menna Rich Nielsen Staoee Pens Frame and C Hamaker —Oris Hciogrephirs Susan A Politer Advisor The Eagle is the official student publication of the College of Eastern Utah Opinions expressed fat this publication may or may not reflect the official opinion of CEU or the associated students of the College of Easton Utah The Eagle office is located fat Roam 111 of the Main Building CEU's 50th Anniversary ed 15-2- Taniguchi docs not feel that CEU will ever fund a football program "at least not in my lifetime With the hard economic times currently facing legislative funding and loo many students and not enought tax dollars it just docs not seem very probable" Cooperative Education Director earns doctorate at BYU in December by Denise Kabonic WHO CARES! Football is gone yes it is a drastic occasion isn’t iL As a student of the college for 2 years I am happy to see it go After all how many people went to the games about 60 per game from CEU I mean let's get real What is bad about not having football at CEU? Could it be that now the school will give scholarships to STUDENTS instead of those wonderful "GOD'S GIFT TO THE WORLD?" Or possibly the fact that now there won't be the 0 wonderful jocks who have become professional pool and ping-pon- g players after spending their "free lime" in the game room instead of doing something like going to class or studying? Or perhaps the most major problem with the football program being dropped is that now I along with the other females at this institution of higher education will no longer have the opportunity to have another meaningful relationship with a true man Oh this is terrible isn't it?
