contains a world of technical knowledge There is an auto mechanics shop and class taught by Professor Maurice Nay There is also a technical math class taught by a newly hired prof Hiis math teacher is Professor Gunderson Then there is machine tool opraetion taught by Professor Julius Spigarelli Welding Shop is taught by Professor Leonard Shield Lastly is the head of the technical department who teaches technical drawing Professor Irel Longhurst This department has long been a part of CEU only no one seems to consider it so Visit this department and see that the people in this building are human and are teachers and students much like those in other departments In the technical department there is a special group of students which the Golden Eagle wishes to acknowledge There ar approximately 14 boys and 4 girls under this program The program’s initials are MDTA which stands for Man Power and Development Training Act These students are on a conditional scholarship where they get paid for coming to school This scholastic aid comes from the Federal Government but the schooling is handled by the College of Eastern Utah therefore making them part of the stud-entbo- dy of CEU Many educators and guidance officers feel that a student's choice of vocation is a sign of Going to college is not the his maturity and commitment same as being educated inand conversely a student’s
