Show THE WEEKLY CABBONICLE Page Six Opera Tryouts Held MAJOREnES HOLD FORMAL INITIATION Saturday night in the college library members of the Majorette dub their mothers adviser Miss Aageson Mrs Bess Jones and Mr and Mrs E M Williams attended the Majorette formal initiation where the new members took tfyeir oath in a candlelight ceremony The room was arranged in a Christmas theme with a big "M" on which the girls placed their candles Punch and cookies were served and a lovely program was enjoyed by all Mrs Jones and Mr Williams each jgave a short talk Beginning Monday of this week and continuing until today opera tryouts have been held for those interested in parts in the opera Anyone in the upper' or lower division is eligible to try out Mr Roylance and Mr Hansen are in charge The opera this year is "Maritza" It will be put on for some time during the first part of February There will be two performances a matinee and evening show Some of those who are trying out are Elaine Waterman Cara Redd Robert Burgener Wells Wakefield Clayton Neilson and Arlen Clavel er Hap Plaga Carbon's in the state for both backfield and line was honored December 16 at the annual Price Kiwanis football banquet Hap was given the first annual coach’s award by being nominated as Carbon High's hero He was given a beautiful medal that he is quite proud bf He all-stat- HOLIDAY GREETINGS WILL THE DREAM COME TRUE?
