There is one more thing about Lynette that I'm sure you’d like to know — engaged as of January 6 to David -Cshe's Palacios of Helper ONGRATULATIONS I Tracey Behling with model Evelyn Behling third Division Senior evening: Lori Christensen model with Margaret Christensen first Cindy Ariotti with model Jeanne Ariotti second Marlayne Hansen with now structor Cosmetology hosts annual hairstyle show contest Students of the CEU Cosmetology department had the opportunity to display their talents on Barker employed at the College of Eastern Utah as an in- model Roanna Olsen third Trophies and certificates were presented to the winners by Rue Ware chairman of the division of Applied Sciences Instructors in cosmetology and coordinators of the contest were Sharon Norris and Linda Davis in the Cosmetology department began her teaching on January 5 1976 A licensed fully inand cosmetologist structor Mrs Barker commented briefly on her job by saying “I enjoy it" A former receptionist at CEU's cosmetology salon Mrs Barker earned two years experience in her field while working at Emma’s Beauty Lounge and Shirley’s Beauty Shop in Price Mrs Barker graduated from CEU with a certificate of completion in teaching She is a resident of Wellington where she lives with her husband Art and their three children Chad 17 Karon 16 and Gary 15 Another new employee is Jan Riddle who is student teaching and also serving as the new receptionist live and lea m with " The Eagle" Flying over the campus “The Eagle" picks up bits and pieces of news occasionally of an academic nature It seems that additions to the vocabulary have been occurring in many CEU departments Here are a few that were overheard by the big bird: Astronomer (Physical Science): A man who looks at the moon when he is not in love Barcarolle (Music): A type of dog biscuit Cookbook (Home Ec): A book filled with stirring passages Head (Anatomy): The least used bone in the human body Heredity (Genetics): Something a father believes in until his son acts like a damn fool Light reading material (Literature): Neon sign Pauper (Sociology): The guy that married mommer Pitching Horseshoes (Phys Ed ) : A dirty underhanded game Polygon (Math): A dead parrot Puncture (Auto Mechanics): Hissing sound followed by profanity Rebuttal (Forensics): Second attack by a goat Synonym (English): A word that means the same as a word you can’t spell Trial Balance (Business) : The first attempt to hold a girl on your knee English Learning English which can take from one to three quarters is required of foreign students before they can take most college classes Only a limited number of classes such as PE classes and ceramics can be taken before English is learned The club consists of eight students with Amin Zolfaghari presiding as chairman and Ali Akbar Khashani as treasurer The group will meet every Friday for one hour so the members can converse with each other in English on subjects ranging from the latest movie to classes being taken One of the duties of the chairman will be to charge the members five cents each time they their native speak instead of language English whether it be during school or in the dorms The money collected will be used for an activity for the Exhibits In supervisors Pam and Dean Wright supervisors of the East Dorm and the CEU Food Service are looking forward to a new experience They are expecting a baby within a few months Thus they have decided to get another apartment with more room for a nursery Dean Walton states that their leaving is going to create a vacancy that will be hard to fill but has come up with an idea that will give something tothe dorms which has been missing so far The new resident managers will be students who will supervise and control the dorm A quick research suggests that this will be the first school in the nation with self-governi- The dorm students assigned to this responsibility and who will be living in the quarters vacated by the Wrights are JD Banasky and David Gillett sophomores at CEU They have resided at the dorm since first coming to Price The student control is in an experimental stage and will be adopted as a permanent situation if it library during Jan and Feb Until the end of January the Utah State Institute of Fine Arts “Painting 75" will be exhibited in the Library Gallery This is a competition professional show that is held at the University of Utah's Fine Try I i a tasty cheeseburger at the Fun Drive-i- n Arts Museum annually The competition is open to all artists in the State of Utah During the month of February “Water Color West” will be in the Gallery This is a collection of water color paintings done by artists throughout the western United States in both Paintings exhibits are for sale If interested in purchasing a (SooEts Velvet Freeze 409 E painting contact James Young at the Art Main Price Utah letters to Sally Dear Sally I finally met my millionaire!
