the meeting was "Goals Iking Success” A full program was arranged for the young women Receives Honors Miss Kelly Colombo of Helper was chosen as homecoming queen at recent University of Utah festivities Miss Colombo was selected also to serve as president of the Boosters Council at the hilltop school The U sopohomore is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority the Associated Women Students' Council and an Air Force sponsor Miss Colombo was graduated from Carbon High in 1957 There she was student body secretary a member of the executive council and active in the Pep and Debate Clubs The Boosters' Council under her leadership plans to give the Utcs a big push by promoting increased interest and spirit at athletic events Carbon Pep Club Gives Initiation Tea A formal tea was given in stayed in Salt all-arou- nd The Price Elks Lodge No 1150 sponsored an essay contest in celebration of National Newspaper Carbon Girl ty Mr Elmo Turcasso chair- man of the committee was in charge of the contest which was open to all college and high school Journalism students The topic chosen for the essay contest was “Your Newspaper Guards Your Freedom” Originality mechanics and general excellence of composition were the points upon which the judging was Pago Throo bate club’s contribution “A Whale of a Future” which won the top award in tho humorous categoiy Right is the Eaglette forum was held on Journalism Sun-Advoca- Sun-Advoc- te ate Thieves Enter Carbon College Library Typewriters Stolen Hie Carbon lihrary was robbed of three typewriters from College the periodical room according to Miss Helen Wilson librarian The cast side window of the library was broken by a heavy object and persons responsible entered the room sometime after midnight on October 17 according to the Price City police Miss Wilson stated that she could not immediately determine whether books or other objects of value were missing Investigation of the theft is still in progress When the grass opportunities for students to express themselves and derive enjoyment Activity points are accumulated over a two-yeperiod for the general activity medals Awards for outstanding work in the various departments and honor pins are given for outstanding scholastic achievement It is wise for junior and freshman students to begin working now for recognition at the Award Assembly held each May in
