the feature honors in the 1932 writing contests sponsored by newspapers in Utah in cooperation with the journalism department of Rrigham Young University David Franco who is a senior Attends Westminster Installation Dr Cross Westminster a prominent Utah college in Salt take City has been receiving congratulations for the impressive inauguration ceremonies held January 9 for the seventh president the Revcrand Richard Palmer Representatives from about 70 different colleges all over the United States paid Ihcir respects to Reverend Palmer The representatives were feted at a dinner in the First Presbyterian Church and took part in a parade After the ceremonies they congratulated Reverend Palmer at a reception at Westminster College Representing Carbon at the installation was Dr William C Cross P Julie McGuire reports that the work on the yearbook is coming right along It should be finished by the last part of May Editor McGuire says that the staff is working long hours to put over a book everyone will enjoy writing contest sponsored by the BYU journalism department He wrote his story about Captain Clifford Jolley's "closest shave” in Korea The first place award is a $30 scholarship to BYU Marie Buckley a Carbon high-juniand reporter on the Carbon-icl- e received first place in the news writing contest sponsored by the Deseret News She will also receive a $30
