The government has dispatched troops there and summary measures will be at once adopted tojiuppress the revolt. Ia the Cortes the Minister of Colonics announced the existence of a revolt of 1,500 men belonging to the garrison, and some of the population hod joined the movement. The leaders are Mont-ej- o and Rijas. The minister further stated that the troops in the fortress of Ferrol refuse to join the insurrectionists and are awaiting reinforcements to suppress the revolt. London, Oct. 12. A severe storm has prevailed on the coast the past 24 hours. Several disasters to shipiing in the British channel are reported. Madrid, Oct. 12. Later. The insurgents at Ferrol took possession of tho gunboats anchored ia the harbor and tho Lighthouse, tho keepers of which they imprisoned. This closes the port and prevents the Government sending reinforcements by sea. There are plenty of men to take their places, hut no latter-da- y boy need apply. It is about time for the major and minor Mormon organs to begin to declare they were always in favor of Grant.
