FERGUSON Mr. Bryan Poff, Jr. State Representative 616 North Polk Street Amarillo, Texas Morality, and Truth Constitution, Liberty, READERS OUTLOOK On Course Dear Rep. Poff: but slaves cannot vote themselves free." am writing to you concerning one of the most important issues that has ever faced the citizens of the United States. After giving the matter exhaustive study, 1 have become firmly convinced that, unless the Congress or the State Legislatures repeal the United Nations Charter, the result will be the decline and fall of the United States. If Congress drags its feet on the question of repealing the U.N. Charter, then the repeal of this Charter by the Texas Legislature should be the first order of business when it reconvenes. Why do many Texans, as well as citizens of other states, feel so strongly about this matter? The reason is that, when the President and the Senate ratified the United Nations Charter on July 28, 1945, the Constitution of the United States was superseded, overruled, supplanted, set aside and substituted by the United Nations Charter. There is no question but that this Charter did tend to or change the form of government of the several States and the Government of the United ON COURSE 1 KERSHNMEV uiumS Edward Rowe Howard Kershner PRIVILEGED LEADERSHIP Following is a list of prerequisites and privileges enjoyed by United States senators and congressmen as compiled by the U.S. News & World Report and made public during the salary debate for congressmen in 1969. Check carefully Articles 1, 13, 25, 55, and 56 of the United Nations Charter! Isn't it a shocking revelation to find out that under no instrument of the United Nations Organization is there a right of trial by jury? The constitutional safeguards of a person's constitutional rights are not afforded. Thus, we have a violation or possible violation of the oath of office of the President, Members of the Congress, the Governors, and Members. of the State Legislatures. This is particularly true when said possible violation or violation is patently known and kept silent when, instead, the necessary and proper legislation should be enacted to enforce, sustain, support, and defend the Constitution of the several States and the Constitution. United States It is the specific and mandatory duty of the public officials to take all necessary and proper legal action to repeal, rescind and .revoke any instrument, law or treaty that destroys the Government of the United States or of the several States. Many people would recommend that the Texas Legislature should repeal the United Nations Charter as it affects the people of Texas. The reason for utilizing State power is that, not only is this approach likely to be the most successful, but it is also based on sound law. The law involved is the fundamental law of agency. Actions of an agent arc not binding upon the principal if thosc'actions are not authorized by the principal. Since the crash of United Airlines flight 553 at Chicago on December 8, 1972, there have been serious charges that the crash was caused by sabotage. Right 553, which originated in Washington, D.C., carried eleven people associated with the Watergate affair to their deaths. With such political intrigue and so much at stake, it is inevitable that there would be certain persons who would have liked to have seen some of these people dead. And it is safe to assume that there would be those who could and would commit political murder to achieve their purposes. Since this writers personal interview with Sherman Skolnick and Alex Bottos in Chicago on October 7, he has gone over carefully some of their charges of sabotage. Some of their accusations do not seem to add up. But then many of them do. Why the Illegal Incarceration of Alex Bottos? Alex Bottos, assistant to Skolnick and a key witness claiming sabotage, was illegally sent to the federal prison (called a mental hospital) at Springfield, Missouri for forty days. When Bottos finally did get a trial on the apparently fabricated charges, he was acquitted by the jury in less than thirty minutes. The government had had absolutely no reason for sending Bottos away. This surely supports Skolnicks and Bottos charge that Bottos was sent away for no other reason than to suppress the testimony of a person in possession of information which would have been very harmful to the guilty. Why the Double Shuffle of High Officials? Subsequent to the crash on December 8, there were several frantic transfers of government and industry personnel connected with the executive branch of the government and United Airlines. On December 9, one day after the crash, White House aide Egil (Bid) Krough, Jr., also involved in the Ellsberg burglary caper, was appointed Undersecretary of Transportation, supervising the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, the two agencies supposedly going to investigate the crash. On December 19, White House deputy assistant to President Nixon, was appointed the new head of the F.A.A. Five weeks after the crash, Dwight L. Chapin, Nixons appointment secretary, is appointed a top executive with United Air Lines at their home office in Chicago. Skolnick claims that at the original crash hearings in February of 1973, Chapin had threatened the news media people with reprisals if they mentioned sabotage. The reprisals would be to use Clay Whitehead, Nixons communications czar, to seek the break-u- p of the networks on anti-tru- st charges. A cions of Government Officials Very Suspicious At this point, this writer (intensely interested in this case both from being an airline captain and a political observer) is not convinced that the crash was caused by sabotage. But he is convinced that there was some very, very suspicious activity surrounding the crash. This, of course, lends credence to the probability of sabotage. At any rate, the matter demands further inquiry. Even if there VyeVe not sabotage involved, the illegal actions by the various, federal agents of the executive branch of the government justifies all citizens to wonder whether future such incidents will be investigated honestly or whether the facts will be suppressed. |
