Show PageS The UTAH INDEPENDENT June 9, 1972 Association of Life Underwriters, Belnap vs. Brockbank Continued from Page 1 against urban renewal in their own local communities. This bill was not only urban renewal, but was a matter of ramrodding it down their throats without a chance to vote. Belnap says he will stand for law and order and will represent in Senate taxpayers, especially District 1. H. Austin Belnap was born on a ranch in Sourthern Idaho in 1922. He very early learned the value of work by starting at the age of 9 to work alongside men in the hayfield. Shortly before World War 11 he came to Salt Lake City where he worked with his brother, now a Ford dealer in Sugarhouse. In Salt Lake City he joined the U.S. Navy, subsequently serving for nearly 3 years, much of the time in the South Pacific. After an honorable discharge he returned to Salt Lake City where he graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. degree in banking and finance. In 1948 he married the former Geraldine Rydmen. They are the parents of six children and also Association money. I would highly recommend him to the people of Utah State B. of mine in Midway, Utah where I own a cabin. To my knowledge he is industrious, honest, capable, and would be an excellent choice for the Utah State in Senate District 1.
