Show April 21, 1972 Readers The UTAH INDEPENDENT MASS MEETINGS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT Our team will have other challenges as the campaign progresses, but the mass meeting is our first very important task. To meet this challenge, we are appointing coordinators for each county who will map out each voting district to assure that one of our team goes to the mass meetings in each district to seek the position of state delegate. This will require considerable effort, but it will pay off many fold and will be our first step to Qyfrflook Continued from Page 2 tax legislation, particularly in relation to higher incomes, as have other tax advantages. We must be careful how far we go in this area or we may kill the goose that lays the golden egg and end up a true socialistic state. Confiscatory income taxes in support of our governments wasteful ways are completely objectionable, and maybe this is the point Mr. Anderson is trying to make. But his show of concern for the worker in opposition to the entrepreneur victory in November. 3 Liberty is Mans most valuable possession, and we have been losing ours by default. Too often, we have gone to the polls on election day to find that none of the choices are our choices. They have all been picked by the other side. We wonder why we are in such a mess. The reason is those on the other side have been doing their homework and we havent, leaving us with only their choices to vote for. But not this time! The foundation for victory in November is beind laid in the mat ter of tax discrimination is not supported now, and our team is laying it! WE ARE BUILDING A TEAM Blaine Kimball Danville, California Reply to David A . King This is why we are building a team. We need to work to insure that delegates are elected at the mass meetings May 15th who believe in individual freedom. Our team is growing fast. I am delighted by the number of really good and knowledgeable people who are ready, able, and anxious to go to work in this campaign. We plan for this campaign to be not only the most educational but the most vigorous one the citizens of the state of Utah have ever seen. If you are for individual liberty and against collectivism, for the right to run your business and against being dictated to, for laws that guarantee individual protection and against those that give bureaucrats dictatorial powers, for adequate national defense and against foreign aid to Communist dictators, then we are for you and you are for us. WELCOME ABOARD We invite you to join our team. If you are interested, contact the Ferguson for Congress Committee, P.O. Box 511, Pleasant Grove, Utah 84062, or telephone and we will introduce you to our coordinator in your area. But dont delay. Our first big challenge is May 15th and we want to be well organized by then. All contributions should be made payable to Ferguson for Congress Committee and sent to the address above. I agree with part of his letter and I disagree with part of his letter. I feel that Mr. King is like the average Mr. and Mrs. America; he is sleeping in the middle of the road. That is where Satan and his stooges want us to be. I suggest Mr. King spend $1.00 for a United Nations packet at the American Opinion Bookstore, 63 East 2nd South, Salt Lake City, Utah. At one time I thought that the United Nations was a very great organization. I was very wrong and I was fooled into a very false belief in the United Nations like you and millions of American people. e Mr. King and fellow has the U.N. done any good in the world? They have lied to us. They have murdered millions of people in this world. They have enslaved and they want to enslave the entire world. I know that they want to dethrone God, and have us as their eternal slaves. Mr. King, do you want to be an eternal slave? Wake up America and find out about Americans, Satans plan! OConnell, who declares: Many feel that the choice is the womans. I would agree if it were clear that the fetus is part of the woman and thus hers to dispose of. The evidence, however, is to the contrary. Microbiology has established that the zygote is human and an autonomous, if dependent, organism from conception. Once fertilized, the cell is no longer latent life. It has its full and human allotment of chromosomes. It is uniquely human, like no other living thing or part of a thing, anywhere along the evolutionary chain. The most basic question seems to be: Is embryoism or according . fetal life human life? (The Chinese date a persons age from conception rather than birth.) At which age would you advocate destroying a childs life in utero? By the eighth day? (Sex is certain then.) By the 10th day? (The first veins develop.) By the 14th day? (Mouth develops.) 21st day? (Heart is beating.) 56th day? (All organs present.) 62nd day? (Hair and eyebrows.) 64th day? (Eyes are developed but still closed.) When is it too late to destroy this person? What about that persons rights? Do legislators have a right to pass a law permitting the destruction of an innocent life, in its embryonic or fetal stages? At what age is a person entitled to due process of law? What crime has he committed which is punishable by death? Why not kill the mother instead? Doubtless the Womens Lib groups will resent the inference that the mother is any more guilty than the father. One Woman Lib (or Lesb as the case may be) recently bragged to a younger group: I have been fighting for Womens lib ever since you were in your fathers womb. Until the 12th week after conception, a common procedure is dilation of the entrance to the uterus and Dr. curettage. Guttmacher Alan detailed this in the Ginical and method Obstetrics and Gynecology Journal: A sharp curette is then inserted to the top of the fundus with very little force, for it is during this phase that the uterus is most jikely to be perforated. Moderate force can be safely exerted on the down stroke. The whole uterine cavity is curetted with short strokes, by visualizing a clock and making a stroke at each hour. The curette is then withdrawn several times bringing out pieces of placenta and sac. A small ovum forceps is then inserted and the cavity tonged for tissue much like an oysterman tonging for .In pregnancies oysters. beyond the seventh week, fetal parts are recognizable as they are removed piecemeal. When Dr. Guttmacher fetal parts, mentions he means an arm, a leg, a head and other parts of what moments before was a living, though small, human body. Beyond the 14th week of pregnancy, the child can be killed in two ways. One is to inject a salt or glucose solution into the womb. As Dr. H.P. Dunn described it : The baby can be felt to make a few convulsive movements, and within a few minutes it dies. In about 24 hours labor starts and the already disintegrating baby is delivered. By this means, of course, the baby is simply pickled alive. The other technique is hysterotomy where an incision is made in the mothers abdomen and the child is lifted out. . Dr. President Phillip Handler, of the National of Sciences, and Academy member of the Presidents Science Advisory Committee, in his keynote speech at the take the minimal step of aborting homo zygotic fetuses bearing serious genetic disease detectable by routine, safe procedures. Dr. R.A. Gallop, head of the Food Science Department of the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada, spotlighted the historical significance of the debate, when he told his If such an colleagues: abortion policy had been adopted in the past, many of the great men of the world would never have been permitted to make their outstanding contributions to society. Beethoven is one. There are many others. Gallop warned his fellow American scientists that the abortion policies now being proposed in this country are suicidal: Once you permit the killing of the unborn child there will be no stopping. There will be no age limit. You are setting off a chain reaction that will eventually make you the victim. Your children will kill you because you permitted the killing of their brothers and sisters. Your children will kill you because they will not want to support you in your old age. Your children will kill you for your homes and estates. If a doctor will take money for killing the innocent in the womb, he will kill you with a needle when paid by your children. This is the terrible nightmare you are creating for the future.
