Show Pane 2 The UTAH INDEPENDENT November 5, 1971 Tho mm Readers Outlook Independenf Dedicated To The Constitution, Liberty, Morality, and Truth U.S. & Rome Editors Outlook The following reasons are quoted by historians for the decline and fall of the Roman Empire. Will you please compare these reasons with the current conditions in the United States of America; then start thinking and doing? Queer Doings at the "U THE CRUSHING BURDEN To bring added shame on a university that has seen greater days, the state supported University of Utah seems to have reached the bottom of the barrel and is trying to scrape through as it reaches for new depths. The reference, of course, is to the University officials allowing sexual perverts to have an officially recognized organization which can hold public dances and meetings in University buildings. They can pass out flyers advertising their dances and meetings urging normal people to join with them to become as mentally deranged as themselves. If you have a son or daughter attending the U, he or she is a target for recruitment into this group of sexual deviates. Under the persuasion of you dont know whether youll like something until you try it many a young person has been turned from the path of normalcy to a lifetime of sorrow when in their youth they joined the ranks of the homosexuals. Obviously, the local perverts are trying to increase their number at the U by using such PR slogans as, Try It Youll Like It. For all we know, the campus Gay Lib organization is made up of queers who have found a favorable predominately ground for their proselyting. What justification is there for having an officially recognized OF TAXES because of: i. The citizens leaving the farms for the cities. 2 ever-increasi- group of sexual deviates on campus? Usually the liberals will begin yelling academic freedom in their support of anything which is t. or However, it could hardly be argued academic freedom. That is, it could not that this is for purposes of be argued on that ground unless one felt that a person must experience sexual perversion in order to further his academic anti-Americ- anti-Chris- an education. It seems a shame that American taxpayers, and in this case, Utah taxpayers, are always called upon to financially support their own ruin. In giving financial support to the University of Utah we are supporting the homosexuals in their drive to gain more converts, that is, perverts. We are paying for and supporting the institution where they have established a base of operations among our youth and enjoy the respectability of being an officially recognized organization. It is our feeling that the people of the state of Utah ought to rise up en masse and demand a cessation of these officially sanctioned activities of homosexual perverts and their organizations. This is a type of education we can do without. There needs to be a housecleaning at the University of Utah and we hope that our State Legislators will take note. Setting prices and wages has been a favorite pasttime of dictators since history began. Todays dictators arc no exception. All U.S. citizens are now subject to this but the nations milk producers have been dictated to for years. One of them, Mr. Sherman Fitzgerald, is now facing a possible prison sentence for refusing to knuckle under to this tyranny. Some of the local big milk handlers enjoy conniving with the federal government in this because they then can use the force of law to artificially create high prices for their product. Other intrusions into the rights of people have been made by the Internal Revenue Service. This department of government has become prosecutor, judge and jury as it dispenses its own form of tyranny. Raw, naked power is revealed as the IRS demands its victims to testify against themselves by providing personal records, files, etc. Fortunately, the founders of the U.S. decided to have a written Constitution. If you can read, therefore, you can determine for yourself the extent of your rights. Unfortunately, for the IRS, Messrs. Wayne Bclnap and Loran Herbert can read and are firm in demanding their constitutional rights. As more people become aware of their rights it appears the IRS is going to have an increasing number of taxpayers revolting. Tom Richardson, a spokesman and farm labor specialist for the California Farm Bureau, warns that boycotts threaten consumers free choice in the marketplace. He also warns that farm workers are being dragooned into unions without elections of any kind and that farmers must sign away the freedom of workers under threat of bankruptcy when they cant move boycotted crops to market. If farm worker organizing efforts continue along the lines established in the case of the grape workers, a new kind of oppression will have arisen in the United States. Richardson points out that farm labor contracts forced on producers in California hold such provisions as the following: No elections for workers are provided, and no options for growers. All labor is assigned from a union hiring hall. The union determines eligibility for employment in effect hires and fires at its own discretion. The union contract stays with the farm for the life of its tenure. It goes with the lease, rental, sale transfer or even inheritance of the farm property. The only conclusion that can be reached from the trend in farm labor organizing efforts is that the ultimate present goal of agricultural unions is the control of every farm and farmer in the f V" 200 mi"i0n C ! XSUPPly - Now in the last years, wc in America have gone a long distance towards the adoption of the Roman concepts, and the abuses against property rights and human freedom and liberties which arc possible under the system. And let me say here and now, that in the whole history of the human race, from Adam until now, Tyranny has never come to live with any people with a placard on his breast bearing his name. He always comes in deep disguise, sometimes proclaiming an endowment of freedom, sometimes promising help to the unfortunate and downtrodden, not by creating something for those who do not have, but by robbing those who have. But Tyranny is always a wolf in sheeps clothing and he always ends by devouring the whole flock, saving none. Yours respectfully, Lorenzo B. Summcrhays Certified Public Accountant |
