How could the League of Women Voters allow itself to discriminate against Tom Anderson, the Conservative American Party candidate, and the various Liberal candidates for President by excluding them from the debates? How could the Federal Election Commission, which has given 22 million dollars to each of the Eastern Establishment candidates, and not one dime to their Conservative and Liberal opponents, approve this unfair arrangement? The only people who will d benefit from these debates are the Eastern Establishment and those who will suffer from them are the American People. one-side- Allan W. Designed to be launched into orbit with rockets and to land on a runway like a conventional shuttle airplane, the delta-winghas been developed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to be the workhorse of the nations space program for the remainder of the 20th Century. Test flights of the space shuttle, about the size of a DC-- 9 jetliner, are scheduled to get under way in the spring of 1977 with the first earth-orbitflight set for 1979. This weeks rollout of the ENTERPRISE is comparable to the launching of a new ship. Equipped to carry upward to seven persons, the ENTERPRISE will be able to carry payloads of more than 30 tons into earth orbit or help boost other spacecraft on lunar and planetary trajectories. According to NASAs report on Future Aeronautics and Space Opportunities, once it has become operational the shuttle will carry into space virtually all of the nations civilian and military payloads, as well as payloads for ed al C0URS& tronauts in exceptional physical condition. Plans reveal that passengers, technicians the flights comodate. ordinary paying passengers. A member of the John Birch Society, Ferguson willingly responded to questions by news reporters to his membership in this conservative organization. He often stated, I realize that the John Birch Society has come under severe attack, and I realize that many people have an incomplete picture of the Society as the result of this attack. During the early 196-0'- s, the very liberal news media from Washington and New York would print everything from the critics and enemies of the Society but nothing from the Society itself or its friends. Naturally, this presented a very distorted view to the people. But time is on the side of truth, and the people are now realizing that the John Birch Society is an honorable and reputable organization. There are now two members of the John Birch Society in the United States Congress. And before I tell you who they are, I would like to tell you who they are not. They are not Wilbur Mills, not Wayne Hays, and not Allan Howe. They are Larry McDonald from Georgia and John Rousselot from California. And they are doing a tremendous job in working to reduce wasteful spending, reduce taxes, stop inflation and reduce the size and cost of the huge bureaucracy. Furthermore, three other members of the John Birch Society have won the Republican nominations for United States Congress this year and Dr. John Grady, a member of the Council of the Society, just won the Republican nomination in Florida for the U.S. Senate by an overwhelming vote. This shows a definite trend and I believe the people of Utah are ready to judge all candidates on their merits. Also, I would like to state that it is the critics and enemies of the Society in Congress who have voted for legislation which has burdened us with such taxes, inflation and a huge unmanageable bureaucracy. In an interview, Ferguson stated that he believes that his chances in November are very good in spite of the fact that he is running against an entrenched incumbent with a name. The incumbent from our district is one of the worst spenders in Congress. We are going to lay his voting record right on the line for the people to see. And I believe they will see that he has been voting for more taxes, more inflation and more bureaucracy. I believe this will give us a definite advantage.
