Show Page 8 The Utah Independent December 25, 1 975 METRO A Conserative E. P. THORNTON Since this Ohio case surfaced, the Master Plan stuck its ugly head up again in Boston. There a Federal judge has handed down a hard eyed, hard-fiste- d ruling (our Constitution be hanged) that because the LOCAL ELECTED SCHOOL BOARD had not in the opinion of. the judge gone far enough fast enough in bussing for race mixing purposes (politely called desegregation) the judge has turned the school system over to Federal authorities. You saw it on RV, and read about it in the press. You will now believe the Ohio incident. WE ARE BEING TAKEN OVER. For the future welfare, education and freedom of all children (and our future as a nation depends on the adults these children will soon become) continue, or join, this fight. Write short letters to editors upholding the rights of parents to establish Christian private schools, and the rights of children to attend them. Get others to write similar letters. Changing the subject, I got an appeal for funds from a previously unheard of cause,uCenter for It National Security Studies". turned out upon examination to be an offshoot of the notorious FUND FOR PEACE, which is given nine pages of space in the Biographical Dictionary of the Left. The appeal included a fourteen page pamphlet, labeled on the front CIA COVERT AC- TION Threat to the - Constitution. Every conceivable excuse is used for completely doing away with our Central Intelligence Agency. On a page of Pros and Cons the point is made The Soviet Union has the KGB (spy ring) so we must have the CIA. Then leftist Frank Church is quoted as saying But if we model ourselves after the Soviet Union that equates us with the Russians, and I always thought there was a difference. What the President wants is respect only for the law of the jungle. That quote from Frank Church discloses his lack of reasoning powers on the subject of United States survival. By the same warped logic Church could reason Just because the Russians have an enormous nuclear capability, and a huge standing army, and an almost overwhelming navy, we should not model ourselves after them I always thought there was a difference so lets do away with ALL OF so-call- ed AMERICAS PROTECTIVE MEASURES ALONG WITH THE CIA!!! fund appeal is spearheaded by another far out left This winger, anti-CI- A Cong. THE AND NACO TRIES TO WRAP OWN PRESENT Speaks Out In last weeks column I sounded a warning about the attempt of state authorities in Ohio to tear children from the arms and homes of their parents, on the flimsy pretext that the parents were allowing their kids to attend private Christian schools not properly accredited by the State bureaucrats. I am happy to say that soon after I wrote the Governor of Ohio and several Board of Education big wigs, I received a printed letter stating that the action against the parents had been dropped. Shortly thereafter I received a phone call from Mel Gabler, Longview, Texas who sent me the first information on the Ohio case. The Gabler man and wife team devote all their free time to a crusade to clean up the text books of Texas. The scope of their work as their knowledge expands grows hence they were active in Kanawha County, West Va., and now in this Ohio matter. Mel told me that following a mass meeting of about 10,000 people in Ohio, rallied by letter writing, telephoning, home and town meetings, etc. the legal action against three sets of parents and their five children had been abandoned. Knowing a bit about devious detente, one wonders for how long?' If bureaucrats would bring such an action in the first place it would be after much planning (which I would have to call plotting). Actions similar to the Ohio one have met with temporary success in other states, so the public cannot let up in its outspoken, militant demands that the State keep its hands off the nations children. The Paper That Dares To Take BOOK NEWS Michael J. Harrington, 6th District Massachusetts. His Socialist credentials are fully displayed in the Biographical Dictionary of the Left. He belongs smack in the middle of that same group which includes Frank Church, William Fulbright, George McGovern, Alan Cranston and scores of others who are tied in with this FUND FOR PEACE or its ONE WORLD pacifist offshoots. It is really bugging leftists that the CIA may have had a lot to do with Communist Allendes downfall in Chile. We hear no real squawks when the The commies attack Portugal. disunited Nations has little to say when Russian arms and Cuban soldiers pour into Angola in Southern Africa. Its chairman enjoys the unique privilege of being heeded throughout the entire civilized world whenever he makes a The monetary pronouncement. Feds power to manipulate interest rates, increase or decrease in circulation, in short its ability to control the value of the dollar, is an enormous one. Yet few of our citizenry know anything about it the of amount money beyond its name. For some time a book on the Federal Reserve System that would explain its ins and outs and how it functions has been needed. This is that book, popularly written by a man who has made a careful study of the way the Fed operates and the way our money system works. He cites it as the chief cause of our periodic recessions. Dr. Larsons previous books, THE GREAT TAX FRAUD and TAX REBELLION, U.S.A., established his reputation as a critic of fearless, consumer-minde- d the IRS. His present book shows how the original intent of Congress with respect to issuing money has been altered. The Fed, as a semipublic institution independent of regulation Congressional Presidential order, is a threat to all of us. Dr. Larson states the case pro and con the gold standard and in general covers a fascinating subject brilliantly. 192 pages. And without a doubt what this country now needs is a lot more incentive to get things done right, to get business going and get the work done; so that we can again better provide the opportunities for a free, fuller and more jewarding life for all Americans. And what better way to accomplish this than to get ourselves more un taxed? Then, we wouldnt need all the government aid and assistance for which we are now so heavily taxed. Then, there wouldnt be all the deficit spending and the resulting inflation that is now causing recession and unemployment. Untaxing would provide the incentives to make goods and services plentifully available at prices that would be affordable to all. politicians at For a change, lets defeat the the polls, and get ourselves untaxed.
